Why Do So Many Prosecutors Let Criminals With Illegally Converted GLOCK Pistols Walk?

On the micro level , it's " Siezures of Illegally Converted Glocks Up 500 % ! " When it's 2 up to 10 ( still infantesimal percentage of total .)

But the big picture;

Progressive Leftists Don't Care about reducing crime . Actually they want More crime .

The goal.is to create a climate of fear and desperation, to make the public want to give up their Rights and Freedoms, for an illusion of safety .
the (d) don't want to incarcerate their pool of potential voters...

How about we do away with the whole "automatic guns are illegal" think altogether and solve this problem.

I'll go as far as to say it shouldn't be illegal to own anything.

Only thing that should be illegal is committing an act that injures or kills someone.

Like someone else said, killing someone with a fully automatic handgun or rifle shouldn't be any different than killing someone with a single shot 22. Murder is murder.

With violent crime the intent of the aggressor weights heavily in prosecution and sentencing of offenders. Bringing a machinegun to a shooting leaves no doubt as to premeditated homicidal intent.

I would like for law abiding citizens to possess a machinegun if they so desire (I miss my MP5).

But, I worry about violent criminals getting hands on them when they proliferate in legitimate hands, through theft and black market. Laws prohibiting machinegun use and guns in general by criminals at least gives us another tool to put volent criminals away.

In federal law, use of a machinegun in violent or drug trafficking cases currently carries a minimum 30 year enhanced sentence.

I understand your point but I respectfully disagree.

I won't accept that rights are stripped from all becuase some bad people might do soemthing they shouldn't.

I shouldn't have to jump through any hoops to own a full auto because some piece of crap gangbanger in Detroit will steal one and use it to shoot up other piece of crap gangbangers.

I also don't beleive in "enhanced sentences." Violent criminals should just be put away (or put down) period.

Again I could own 20 fully automatic rifels, SBRs and hanguns and never use them to harm someone

But because Tyrone in the inner city is going to blow off 33 rounds in his stolen Glock, I can't have em? No, that is not acceptable

Im so tired of hearing "it should be banned because Bad guys might do something...."

F me, Bad Guy DO things. Bad Guys will always DO things. Bad guys make bombs, Bad guys make drugs, Bad guys MAKE automatic weapons, Hell Bad guys even make GAS. GUN FREE zones didnt stop some ghetto angel from stabbing a kid at a track meet.

I don't disagree with you in principle. But as a street cop in Florida in the 80's and 90's, gangs and drug dealers with automatic weapons would keep you awake nights. Our police shotguns were augmented or replaced by full auto rifles or SMG's as a result. I don't want to see them proliferate on the street..

I don't want to see them proliferate on the street..
But they ARE proliferating on the street. Glock stopped making the Gen 5 series because someone made a full auto switch; within a month there was a switch for the V model and I suspect theres been a version for the Gen 6 guns since they came out. The Genie is out of the bottle on full auto guns, it has been for years.

PDs have pretty much always been behind the curve on issued weapons. A lot has to do with budgets but I suspect its also an image issue; do we really want cops on corners with machine guns asking for "your papers"?

That being said Im all for cops being armed with weapons to beat the thugs BUT we need to stop DEI hiring when it comes to guys you want to hunt monsters.

In some of the blue cities and states, if criminals are not prosecuted the crime stats stay low and they boast about the safety of their cities, plus their voter base stays out of jail.
yeah, but they still have the graveyards in thier back pockets as well.

I certainly ran through a few bosses that "downgraded" crimes (a burglary became a trespassing, destruction of property, and theft), because none of them are Part One crimes and dont get listed like felonies.

I blame a lot on COMSTAT where each month the bosses are called together to review their area crimes. A Precinct that had 8 burglaries last month but only 6 this month looks like they are reducing crime (not to the 6 victims) AND a Precinct that went from 1 burglary last month to 2 this month looks terrible because their burglaries doubled. Its a numbers Ponzi scheme played on the public by bosses who want to make politicians happy

Dont prosecute bag guys with switches and suddenly you have lower crime stats
