Why This Forum?

The reason for trying this forum is somewhat simple. I don't get out much anymore and Facebook, Messenger, Ticktock etc just didn't fit. 9yrs ago my wife came down with pneumonia and she only has about 30 percent left of her lungs and now has a constant companion of a concentrator and I became a full time caretaker. Are golden years are somewhat tarnished but we try to work through things together. I suffer from SCA and have a dual defibrillator but I have a lot more responsibility making sure pills are taken on time and picked up from the pharmacy when required. Being able to share some stories, jokes, info and of course learning some new things. This is the outlet that helps me to continue on. Our kids stay in touch but the have busy schedules but let us know they are thinking about us. Yes a old dog can learn things and like I told my kids a old man's stories are a young man's prime. Reading about others memories and fubars helps on me meet the requirements of the day. Having a outlet helps me meet the requirements of our world. For us it's a toss up as to who will be called home as both of us have come close but we seem to continue being there for each other. This is the only site I am on and it helps me meet my commitment to my wife so I say you have no idea how much it helps. The Forum and workouts keep me on track and do what's needed. I can assure you there are those who try to take advantage of seniors especially those with mobility issues but so far I have been able to encourage them to look elsewhere even at 3 o'clock in the morning. Have a great day and be safe and thank you for sharing some time and stories along with info.

Why do you come to this forum?

I come here to learn things about subjects that interest me, have fun and make friends.

A vast majority of the members have been nothing but respectful and great contributors to the first and only forum I belong.

Thanks guys & gals for being awesome!

What's your reasons for being here?
I see I'm over 20 pages late, but I joined after lurking a bit, I need to learn more about newer firearms, like the Kuna. I shot competitive skeet but left and years later I'm getting back to a hobby.

Yep, all good folks here and tons of knowledge. Enjoy.....

Welcome to ya' there Ozarker. Best we can figure 'round here is there's about 4,000 really good folks ... and one damned ol' grouch! ;)

I’m going to be the 5 years behind schedule that I’m good for.

Personally I was on GlockIQ (yes my first 2 guns a few years ago where 43X’s) and was trying to learn more about the in and out world of firearms while been in Illinois.

While there I kinda ventured here and thought it was a little strange but kept the account open here. I got sick and tired of the gripe of GlockIQ and put off forums for a year because of it. Yes I went back and got annoyed and started coming here because it’s the polar opposite of GlockIQ. Yes I had to change my attitude towards this forum big time. I actually like how threads keep going on here and can get help (even if the post stated years ago). Also there’s no point chasing and leaving after so many.

So in a nutshell it’s not actually that bad here.

and on some sites...too much "BAN HAMMER"............

at least here, they swing that BAN HAMMER..............only on certain occasions....

like.....Mother's Day, Father's Day. Labor Day, Columbus Day, and rarely but they do.....on Kwanzaa
