This is my first time actually living in a rural area.

We've been here since August 1st so We've experienced late summer and fall. We really haven't experienced a real Winter out here yet or Spring or Summer.

When I was in the Army I either lived on post or I was considered "Mission Essential Personell"

So even when they closed the Post I was still expected to show up for work.

Same thing when I worked as a security guard.

The very first Winter I was retired I got so excited when we had our first snow storm and they announced on the news that Fort Carson was closed to all Non-Mission Essential Personell. Because that was the first time that ever meant that I got to stay home.

I'm looking forward to the first time they close the highway leading to our house.

I say spring because that’s when loosing the layers and start having fun outside. I hate been hot and where I work ain’t to fun in the heat.

Winter is my favorite cuz winter = NO skeeters, No chiggers, No tourists.
Me and my dog were out walking in the woods @ 2 am this morning, !8*, lil snow on the ground ,clear sky, bright moon, leaves gone off trees n bushes even with weak flashlight there was eye balls everywhere. Mostley deer, a fox and maybe a racoon. No wind just nice and quiet. Cant do that in the other seasons. JMHO

Okay, in all seriousness, I will have to pick Fall. Being in Florida, that is the end of Hurricane Season, and it starts cooling down somewhat.

This. Having 6 motorcycles hibernating in my garage for 5 months sucks balls.

I do like to downhill ski and snowmobile, but now that I'm in my 60s, I really do tire of the sub zero days.

I hate summer-too freaking hot to do anything. Fall and spring are great, winter is “ok”. You can always put on more to get warm. Summer when temps are 90’s+ and so is humidity there’s nothing you can do. You go strip down to your birthday suit and you’d still be hot
