How to make the United States united again?

One thing I can say right off the top of my befuddled head- the schools have got to be non-political. The majority of the staff are hard leftists, teaching that awful CRT, having kids swear allegiance to various flags, expecting and tolerating intolerable behavior from some groups, disregarding history and civics in favor of deviant sexual training.. All these things have no place in a school paid for by the tax payers.
Readin', writin', arithmetic, science, English, history, civics, home economics, these are the subjects they should be teaching. The youth are the future and they are being sabotaged in those indoctrination centers.

Since I haven't been on social media for over a year now. Recently, my sister told me a friend of mine moved from NYC to Japan, because he found out what the schools were teaching his kids during the lockdown. The guy has a Japanese wife, but doesn't speak a lick of Japanese himself. He was one of those friends I drifted away from because of his TDS. But at the very least, I respect his will to basically get rid of his multiple successful small businesses in NYC, for the sake of his kids, and relocating to a country where he'll likely have difficulty achieving the same success he had before. Being married to a woman that grew up in the Japanese education system myself. I gotta admit, their education system is first class in just about every way, and turns out fine adults.

It will never happen. There are 2 things that could make it happen, but they will never happen. We either have to split into 2 separate countries or we have to return all power to the states. As long as liberals move from California to Texas or conservatives decide to live in LA or NY City there will never be unity again. Those days are long gone.

In my honest opinion there is only one way this "Grand experiment" ends. Unfortunately . Blood and violence.

There's a great big part of where it all has come from. And that's where it will all have to be ended. I've personally watched and seen how public schools have changed over at least two generations and part of a third. As long as the younger generations are taught the kind of tripe indicated in this post above, it will only get worse.

As each generation comes of adulthood and takes over the reins of running the country either by means of holding professional or influential positions, and/or leadership positions, and they do this take over with a mindset having been bent by ultra progressives who won't teach, much less stand for their national anthem, or salute their national flag, and believing that everything from the past is wrong and bad as they have been taught, then it will only get worse.

The mindset of those young adults who are in current leadership positions determine the way of the country. Just pay attention to some of the simplest TV commercials of today and compare them to commercials of the same or similar products of 20 yrs ago.

The way of the traditionalists/moralists are the ones who disagree with these mindsets. Those are the two sides. A traditional and moral America as the founders originally set up, or the new wave of ignoring/disavowing those traditional values, morals, principles and national pride. I'll never accept under any conditions the mindset or preachings of anyone who ignores the national anthem or the pledge to the flag.

Politics is as politics does .................. I don't give a hoot about politics in general. What I do give a hoot about is having to answer to my 5 yr old grand daughter when she asks "grandpa, look at those two men over there with no bottom in their britches ..... and they're kissing too!"

I know we read about those things in the schools, but I know personally a few teachers that are not leftists. Most of the things like CRT, etc., are, I believe, being forced on the teachers by school administration, and the administration is responding to protect their funding. And, I think an awful lot of parents just don't care as long as they don't have to get involved in their kid's education.

This too is a major part of how this situation has been allowed to happen.

There should be no federal gov't involved in public education ..... period!!! All public schooling should be controlled and determined at the local/state level.

Apparently this subject has been kicked around before:

In the best days of our republic Americans were fiercely proud of the fact that rich and poor met on such equal terms in so many ways, and without the slightest trace of hostility.
Robert W. Welch, Jr.

For not only every democracy, but certainly every republic, bears within itself the seeds of its own destruction.
Robert W. Welch, Jr.

Democracy must be built through open societies that share information. When there is information, there is enlightenment. When there is debate, there are solutions. When there is no sharing of power, no rule of law, no accountability, there is abuse, corruption, subjugation and indignation.
Atifete Jahjaga

Democracy is the road to socialism.
Karl Marx

The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.
Winston Churchill

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.

Well said jumpinjoe

I don’t have time to read this thread at the moment. I promise I will later.

My two cents without reading it: term limits for every member of Congress, turn off the television, get off social media.

Perhaps giving power back to the states and understand that a centralized federal government cannot work effectively for such a diverse country. Just a thought.

If everyone would do their very best to act civil all the time; if everyone would truly be as courteous as they possibly can with everyone, even their enemies; we would begin to come together. Not everyone will do this; but if enough do this, we will soon come to "herd immunity" with regard to our divisions. However, if not enough do this; if most people stay "locked down" and stay behind their masks, we will never reach "herd immunity" with regard to our divisions.

In reality, there are those who are actively pushing us apart; those people must be stopped somehow, or we will never come together. I believe that the whole overblown reaction to COVID is in part an effort to keep us divided. (And yes, I do believe it is overblown.)

There's one thing I rarely if ever hear in these sorts of discussions, and that is, we need to reconcile with God. We are greatly offending Him with some of the things going on in our society. The key, in my opinion, is all of the innocent blood being shed each year via elective abortion. And I believe that some of the terrible things currently going on are triggered by our constantly offending God and arrogantly rubbing it in his face.

Perhaps a sincere apology to God for some of this might cause Him to back off from some of the judgments we are currently experiencing as a country.

Jimbo, this is just representative of the many references in my statement regarding 'traditions' and morals'. We will never 'come together' as long as one side is headlong into ignoring and/or destroying the traditions and morals that have made this country great. Once those traditions and morals are lost, they can never be regained ..... that's how important it is to never concede those values. :cautious:

Abraham Lincoln...

On Jan. 27, 1838, Lincoln spoke before the Young Men’s Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois, about "the perpetuation of our political institutions." During that address, he said: "At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."

Racism, bigotry and intolerance prevent us from unity. Refusing to grant the same level of respect to those different from ourselves that we demand for our own views doesn't work. We are, and always have been a diverse nation. When that is seen as a strength rather than a weakness, there is hope.

Some parents are spoiled worse than the children.
Yes, decentralize; return to many small local schools.
(Un)social media is a step backward.
Can do everything else but if God is left out, it will never work out.
Used to be, a difference of opinion was not a basis for a brawl.
A digital relationship is no relationship at all.
Corrupt adults, news that entertains rather than informs, schools that indoctrinate rather than educate are not good.
The nasty Trifecta of Government, Big Tech, and "Liberalism" is a boat taking on water.

In the end, Honorable MEN will have to raise a little Hell, stand their ground, relearn the word NO!

Problem is, racism, bigotry, and intolerance nowadays is manufactured, through amplifying fringe examples.

Diversity is a weakness if the diverse refuse to adopt the national culture. You think China deals with problems regarding racism, bigotry, intolerance? They not only don't have to deal with it, they get to institutionalize it with no consequences.

If that happens then everyone will be walking around like the Duncan Doughnut guy every day and sound like Ben Stein  ;) ........where will the fun be! If there was world peace then there would be no economic structure :ROFLMAO: ? There would be no reason too have any weapons and abortion would thrive  . Comedy would be dead and be deemed aggression.
