Have You Cleared Your House?

I have 60 12 ga slug rounds in 3 clips for the BP12, I sleep in the furthest SE corner of the house, that means I can start firing moving 2 degrees from left to right and clear the entire house with 15 rounds left before I walk out my bedroom door! I can have those 15 rounds to check behind the furnace/A/C in the utility room, check behind the fridge and freezer and check for midget attackers hiding in the oven.

Assuming it doesn't jam.

I believe in giving fair audible warning to intruders

I have a great vantage point from upstairs to keep anyone from coming up. I pulled the carpet back, removed the plywood, and installed a 6' X 6' section of 1/2" plate steel so I can stand my position and not have some loon shoot thru the ceiling from below to take me out. I'll let the police clear the downstairs.

That’s pretty awesome!

Man, that's even crazier than some of the shite I got going on. You have some reason to believe this may be necessary or are you like me, just a little cray cray and watched probably too many action flicks ? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I can't count the times my wife's eyes have rolled so far back in her head she slipped into another dimension.

Kudos sir. :p
Same with my girlfriend. When I put a vault door on the spare bedroom and put another 1" of drywall on the entire interior, she thought for sure that my cheese had slid off my cracker. But now I don't have a gun safe. I have an entire room rated at 1 hour for all of our precious belongings.

I never considered a vault door because to my mind I would have to have the entire wall it was in clad in steel otherwise there doesn't seem to be much point. In between studs if all there is is drywall that's a big weak point.

Absolutely agreed. The bedroom is on ground floor sitting on cement. At the time I was more worried about fire than theft. Plus, it looks pretty damn cool! 🤪

I was a carpenter by trade most of my life. In 2017 my house flooded and I rebuilt it. By rebuilt I mean I gutted it. The interior walls were held up by bottle jacks ( I'm on a crawlspace ) while I replaced the floor joists and subfloors. Every single piece of drywall, wiring, plumbing and drains were torn out and replaced. Walls were opened up, beams were installed. Everything changed. Most of the stuff I did I am not going to talk about, but I will say this. My exterior sheathing is 3/4" oak installed herringbone ( diagonally) and that is NOT the hardest substance you will encounter if you are trying to get into my house through a wall. :-)
