I have been shooting for a number of years (30+) but not a consistent regular shooter. I have the Prodigy 5" Comp. This is the first 1911/2011 that I have owned. I have had an issue getting the slide lock out since new. But, today, after shooting yesterday I had an awful time getting the slide lock back into place. I took it to my local gun store and the owner also had a hard time getting the slide lock to "push in all the way". Eventually, he managed to do it and he was kinda surprised that he did as he had been fiddling with for 6 or 7 minutes to get the slide lock in. He then did it a few more times but "seemingly" not easily.
I looked at the slide lock to see if it was bent. Certainly not obvious to my eyes (although I am 75, so who knows <G>).
Is this common to the Prodigy to be difficult to get the slide lock out or put it back in again?
I have a support service call in to Springfield and waiting for a call back from them but thought I would pose the question here also.
TIA.
