A watch is not for everyone i know that. I have worn one for 50 years, the only time I do not is showering, or at a primitive gathering.

To me a watch is both a necessity and a pleasure. I am very, my wife says anal, about time, especially being on time. I was taught not being on time is very rude, you are telling someone thier time is not valuable as yours. Right or wrong that is what I was taught.

Looking at my phone to see the time is a waste of time and energy when I just have to glance at my wrist. I gave to retrieve my phone from the case on my belt and return it just to check the time, no thanks. Hell whenever I can I ditch the phone, hate carrying it. Thst goes back to my beeper and work phone days

Second, pleasure, I like the looks of a watch, thrley make me smile, especially like certain styles. I am big on dive watches, coin edged bezels, cushion and barrel cases and rice bead bracelets. I tend to, when home, change watches several times a day, depending on mood and task at hand. Yesterday when we took daughter to dinner I wore a bright orange faced , because I was happy and love the color. This morning am wearing a Timex field watch because I am working outside and its a cheap beater.

I wear a watch hunting, but that’s it.
All day, everyday, there is a clock on the wall, the car dash, and the iPhone.
I’m anal about time as well and refuse to be late. To me, 10 min early is on time. After that, you are late

Well, I got into it right and it is way above me...but folks see it on my wrist and don't know it, which was advantageous when I was a working man. It left me along with most of the gun collection when Biden got elected. My wife and I sat down knowing he was going to run the economy into a ditch. So we sold stuff to pay off the house. It was the right answer. But man, I really did like my vintage Rolex GMT Master.

I get the pistols, knives, lights, but what is with the watches being posted?
I'm not sure. I wear a watch every day so it would make sense to display it as part of every day carry, but I rarely include it in a picture. I think some people feel that wearing a Rolex or Omega or even a Seiko diver's watch brands them as some kind of "operator".

To me it means a person with refined tastes. “Operator” is a word that is the furthest from my mind on a watch.
