And yet another reason why all churches should have a response team. People know that most churches are filled with unarmed folks, thereby being a target rich environment for the evil and insane. I’ve carried daily for decades, but never in church until about 10 years ago. I spoke with my priest and told him I carried all the time but not at church. I said “I’m very concerned over this. Part of me says weapons have no place in a house of God, another part of me says a man has a duty and a responsibility to protect that which he loves”. I’ll always remember Fr’s answer “it bothers me too. Pray, pray, pray, but carry”. I’ve done so ever since
it would "bother me" if churches had to be fortified like a castle...complete with extra heavy doors, steel plates on the windows, metal detectors, armed guards and dogs.
we should not have to worry about our places of worship, NO MATTER the religion..be it Catholic, Judaism, Mormon, Muslim, or whatever.......
its a place of spiritual being, peaceful, and love of our faith.
we should never be afraid to attended church services, but we should also not have to look over our shoulders either.
evil is out there, and it will never end.
i'm telling all of you now, i "see" a not too far distant future, where many guns will be banned in this country, and we have the crack-head, nuts and otherwise deranged loose cannon people to thank for this.
its inevitably going to happen.
but then too...we would have the then current military people, that WILL BE ALLOWED to have such weapons, to maybe go bezerk too......
then what....??
disarm the military..???
