NRA Magazine Subscription

I'd say one of the only reasons we can still own firearms is because of the past efforts of the NRA. It's star today doesn't shine as brightly as it once did, but the NRA is trying to get its act together and return to its former glory. The best way I know to find out what they do is to start out browsing through copies of the National Rifleman magazine. Please let us know what you find.

The NRA is restructuring there magazines, only ones that will be available are American Hunter and American Riflemen, which will be only 4 print mags a year, but will be digital also. Just a FYI

I agree that the magazines are all but worthless to me anymore. They should be "fixed". I'm absolutely against only offering the choice of two long gun magazines however. There are far too many potential members and many existing members that have zero interest in long guns. My wife used to shoot trap and enjoyed it, but cannot any longer because of age and medical reasons. She never hunted - but did cook already cleaned game. She does have concealed carry permits in several states and practices regularly. She is interested in 2A articles if they are not just more of the same and will read some unique articles on handguns, ammo, and holsters.

We have lots of younger friends, both male and female, that are very much like my wife. Why turn people off with magazines they have no interest in?

Thinking of becoming an NRA member, but I am curious which gun magazine do you get a subscription for??? Are there any NRA members on this site??? Also besides political representation for our 2nd amendment rights, what does the NRA DO???
doesn't matter which magazine you choose...the articles in 1 magazine, can be found in all of them.

you'd appreciate the magazine when you reach 5 years as a member, cuz when there is a vote, you get the voting ballot, again, in anyone of them.

i usually just drop off which ever one i get, at my club.

American Hunter. I'm not able to hunt anymore, so I can sort of doing vicariously. My last experience with American Rifleman, like every other gun rag 95% all about AR's and recycled Tupperware bottom feeders.

I have had American Rifleman but with them having a weekly show on Outdoor channel I was thinking of changing to Shooting Illustrated

And I am an acquaintance of one of the frequent authors featured in SA Tamera Keel

Go ahead and join the NRA, Lamps3. We need you! I know personally of more than one organization, that like the NRA, has dropped or altered the distribution schedule of print magazines. And, the NRA does a lot more than political lobbying for the 2A. For example, Eddie Eagle to teach children about guns and safe handling, a firearms instructor certification program, support for state lobbying efforts through state organization, and many other things to support the shooting sports. Membership is cheap for what we gun owners get, and the print magazines and newspapers have pretty much become a thing of the past.

Why would anyone join the NRA? There are better 2a advocates out there.
So. If they are actually cleaning up their act, and time will tell, why would one truly willing to contribute to the fight not want to give to them as well as others you have confidence in in regard to lobbying for 2 A rights? I contribute to 12 different organizations, some of them as a Life Member and I have been escrowing money that I might give to the NRA once I'm convinced they have repaired their problems.

Wayne & Co. forgot why they were there. That said, NRA is still the big dog on our side. It does appear they are trying to get their act together again and I’d urge anyone who supports 2A to join NRA as well as any other advocate groups you encounter (GOA) comes to mind. We are going to need the strongest organizations possible to survive then next couple decades as free people and not see our “leaders” remake this country in Chairmanship Mona’s image. We have a breather at the moment but if you think this will last you’ve not been paying attention

I don't read anything the NRA prints. They betrayed us.
many of you here at least on this message board website, have had been involved with this sport/hobby for decades.

i have not, i only been in it since January of 2020.

as such, all of you know full well the antics of Wayne and Co, better than i ever could be.

yes, there are many other Pro 2A organizations, and that's just it.......many more

we need all the help we can get from all of them.

all i can do on my end, is to watch and see if the NRA turns around, cleans up their mess, and gets back to the effort to fight for us.

as such, my eyes are clear(er) than some others, and looking for that ray of light for a brighter NRA future.

i cannot give up all hope for a terrific comeback, for an organization, with such a long storied history of defending our rights.
