S&W 432 Ultimate Carry Ti Review: No Thanks!

This is sad to hear since S&W are the only brand of revolvers I own.
It is sad that this and most manufacturers are more concerned with board of directors' profits, and the consumer has been forced into their quality control.
Having a lifetime warranty is great, but it should not be used for poor workmanship.
 
I love S&W revolvers and have been collecting them for close to 50 years. As much as it saddens me to say it, the company has gone to crap. :( Beginning with that damned lock in 2001, things have just gotten worse. Worst of all, QC has gone straight down the toilet. far too many guns are having to go back to the company for issues that should never have left the factory. I only own one S&W revolver made in the current century and its a notable no lock exception.
 
I have purchased 3 firearms from S&W over the past 3 years. 2 of them needed to be sent back due to malfunctions immediately after purchase.

Shield Plus had consistent FTE-fixed under warranty
642 had a trigger that “locked up”-fixed under warranty

So far, after a few hundred rounds, the Bodyguard 2.0 has run without exception. It does shoot left; still trying to determine if that’s me or the gun.
 
Do you have a shooting buddy that can test it for you? If (s)he also shoots left it's likely the gun.

It's all been downhill since they dropped nickel. Maybe the elimination of the stupid lock is a turnaround for them.
 
This really saddens me. They FINALLY got somebody in charge to address the poor sights that have plagued the J-Frame since inception, and I am afraid to buy one. I bought a Model 60-15 Pro Series because it had the features I wanted...three inch barrel and good sights. But for pocket carry, I would love a J-Frame two inch double action only with decent sights...and I can't trust buying one. I held my nose and bought the 60-15 even with the lock. But reliability is key for a defensive REVOLVER for crying out loud. People rightfully expect a revolver to work out of the box. No break in, no additional lubrication or malfunction drills like with a semi auto. And the day has come that I can't buy a Smith and Wesson revolver out of the box? What is next? Electing an outright Communist Mayor to run New York City? Oh, wait....

This is on my short list. Not a J frame but real sights and the cargo pocket I carry in won't know the difference. 7 dependable rounds through good sights from the get go.

At a towering five foot five inches (Towering? Really?) that GP 100 would be a belt gun for me, but a seven shot .357 does have some appeal. A buddy got one of the 44 Special GP100's and it is crazy accurate. Well, like about every GP 100 I have ever been around.

If you like that one you'll really like my other "suspect", the 8 shot Redhawk. Not sure where 5'5" comes in. Oh, duh, you meant you not something to do with the height of the gun. My brain takes Sundays off. :) I'm 5'7" anymore. Old age shrinkage. I'd have to add my SP101 to the left cargo pocket to offset and balance against the Redhawk. Might be fun. Especially at weigh-in at the docs office. :LOL:

I had a Redhawk years ago...5.5 inch BBL was an easy carry hunting sidearm. But since my bear hunting days are behind me and a friend and his son have their bear hunting days before them it went to them. Heavier than a S&W 29, but stronger too.
