I wasn’t thinking more 1800’s in general rather than the timeframe of the Civil War. That does make more sense in general putting it that way though.

This restoration of gun rights would end up being a case-by-case decision, and we do not have the capability to widely judge this consistently. We obviously don't have a level playing field.

That's one of the reasons why I don't think there should be any "process." It should be automatic. Not in jail/prison, not on probation/parole, you have gun rights. Easy peasy.

But, again, just my opinion
