Why do people think MIM parts are no good?

Probably the same reason they think Ruger cast parts are bad. Ignorance. (Which means inadequate information or education on a subject, not stupidity) Another thing of which they may be ignorant.

MIM parts are and are not bad. It depends on the alloy it was made from. As well as the company using the part understanding that it may not 100% within specs. (Depending on the mold used.) A prime example are some of the ejectors Springfield Armory uses in 1911 pistols. They are pretty close, but if you have one of those that lock to the rear without using the slide lock, it's probably the ejector. A few strokes with an india stone will show the high spots. Along with how out of spec the part is. I can provide pics if necessary. Basically the parts can be good but requires minor fitting sometimes. Along with proper alloy's and heat treatment,MIM parts can be good parts. ( Some parts not all)

Sig using MIM parts in the 365 turned me off. Had a couple of broken firing pins.
I don't mind MIM parts so much, depending on where they are used. But the firing pin? That's unacceptable. I was told by a guy in our gun shop that Springfield Armory doesn't use MIM firing pins. True or not, I don't know.
