Wow. I never said anything about shooting your granddaughter. Not specifically or hypothetically.I honestly don't understand what you're trying to communicate. I'm not going to shoot my granddaughter and I never said that I had any intention of doing so.
What I said was it if I ever see that dog running loose I'm going to kill it.
We've had a bunch of GSDs. It's our responsibility to socialize them. They look scary and some people freak out. Most people realize she's charging to the end of her leash with a smile on her face to greet them.We got our latest GSD from a local litter. We spent time socializing her with people and other dogs. Will she jump up on someone? (sadly, yes) But it's because she wants to meet and greet, and since she's a GSD, we keep her on leash except in the house and in the backyard.

Well how many times you question the need to carry or say I'll never need this thing ??
Maybe if I'm just running up to the store or wally world but the reality strikes and I realize it's not even safe to do that anymore.I read an article by Massad Ayoob several years in which he said (paraphrased) If you're ever involved in a self defense shooting one of the first time questions the cops are going to ask you is why were you carrying a gun?
He went on to say that you're better off if you can say "I carry a gun everyday and today was no different."
I put my gun on when I get dressed in the morning and anyone in my immediate family can testify to that.
That's my fault if it seemed like i was coming on too strong. I didn't mean to come off quite like that, and I'm sorry. Nobody gets what I'm trying to say anyway because they aren't divorcing themselves from the one particular incident.I didn't mean to start a **** storm...
That's 'cuz you live in America.Maybe if I'm just running up to the store or wally world but the reality strikes and I realize it's not even safe to do that anymore.
I used to think it was a hassle for whatever reason I could come up with but now if I'm restricted by work it's the only time I'm not armed on my body the vehicle is a different story.
All I'm trying to say generally is there are certain things you should or shouldn't do. One of which is don't shoot my dog. Or my granddaughters'. YMMV. My apologies.
Practically speaking I think OC spray is a better solution for a dog than shooting it.
Many years ago, right after high school, i had a temporary job outdoors.Pepper spray doesnt work the same way on dogs as it doe on humans.
If you insist on something Less Lethal for dogs get a Taser NOT a stun gun but a real TASER
BS!I don't care what anybody says, pitbulls were BRED for one thing and one thing only: to kill. They were specifically bred to fight in pits to the death. Period. Full stop.
You forgot about the pit bulls as we know them today were specifically bred to Dog fight gambling just as Cock fights were.BS!
Yes, you're correct in that they are game dogs. The old timers knew the dangers of these dogs. They killed ALL that showed aggression towards humans!! Period full stop.
They were never fought to the death, That's fake news. Originally the fights were only for breeding purposes, best males and females were bred. You didn't fight to the death as your breed line stock you worked so hard to "perfect" would go no where.
They were absolutely bred to be ""sweet, lovable, gentle" dogs" to humans yet a catastrophe to furry creatures that is why they make such great catch dogs for hog hunting.
I could go on because I know this for a fact! My family has bred these for over a hundred years. there was very stringent rules for matches. They just didn't turn them loose and let them fight until one died!
Once again I am talking the old timers, this all went to hell in a hand basket once the gangbangers and mobsters got involved.
I've walked into many breeders yards full of pit dogs that didn't know me from Adam and was able to walk up and pet every one. This is required when I went looking for new puppies or breeding male or female to buy from a breeder I was not familiar with. If the dogs were aggressive I left, no sale.
Carry on with your nonsensical horse hockey.
There are dogs out there specifically bred to catch humans I'm sure you can come up with which ones those are. The cops use them, they were bred for livestock herding, humans just happened to be "livestock"...
I've not forgotten anything! You forgot about the pit bulls as we know them today were specifically bred to Dog fight gambling just as Cock fights were.
