I may be wrong (too often I am) but I believe the blue series 70 models came with gold rampant colt medallions on the grips, and nickel models had the silver. Did you change grips or buy them that way?

The gun is exactly like I bought it in 1970. I didn't do the "Absolutely necessary" collet bushing upgrade or anything else. Hard to believe I carried this for twenty years but back then Colt made guns to last. My SP-1 is still shooting great after all

this time too!

I had an M-16A1 and it was out of the box new when it was issued to me and yes I'd pay five figures for it. The LE 1620 is no slouch

though!

It's a "Paratrooper" or "Cowboy Carbine" made by China for Civilian sales here, Now the ones your talking about are here. I had an 03 License and a Credit Card and the third MOST important thing a Wife that doesn't care what I buy.
