People flocking to Pizza Hut Classic

truth be told aside from my comment above, Pizza Hut didn't really do well in my state, due to the huge amount of "real pizza places"

to my family, to have gone to a pizza hut would be like going to a drive thru and ordering a cheese burger, that tasted like....... :poop:

you simply just cannot ignore the much more tasty fresh, real ingredients, over franchise owned pizza place, that served up....basically....7-11 pizza......

sorry, but its the truth

dining selection is extremely limited in the town i live including days open and hours of operation. 8 iirc if you include the 2 convient stores. a few of those close between noon and 2pm as others don't open until 3pm and close between 7pm and 10pm. also included in the 8 are 2 food trucks which 1 is very good. the only issue i have with that truck is sometimes they don't have brisket which is what most of us eat when ordering (either in quesadillas or tacos). some order burgers from there which are good also. pretty much operated by a mother and son. the steakhouse is WAY over priced and not that good from the 3 times i've eaten there. the same steakhouse owners also have a 2nd establishment to eat at locally which is better (they also own a few subway deli's). the other places are average food as nothing too really give praise about.

1 of my aunt's has a great recipe for pizza. the dough is really good and the sauce taste so good too me i drink it (then again i drink homemade ranch dressing). i made some for my in-laws about 35 years ago and i don't think i want to do that again as it took nearly all day, but worth it!

that is certainly an issue, and i fully respect that....

in many areas of the country, Chicago, NY, Detroit, NJ, and New England have a real pizza place in every neighborhood, so many that, Dunkin Donuts, CVS Stores and 7-11's........fight each other to the death for the customers.......ok, not really

but i think you get the idea on the population compared to where you are.

many supermarkets do see real pizza dough, and so do many bakeries that sell pastries/breads/pies, etc, for cheap..up here a pound of dough is still $1.00

then a trip to the supermarket, one can find real pizza sauces in cans or glass jars....all the cheeses, and all the veggies, and meats, like the sausages, hamberger, etc, etc.

a home made pizza takes time to buy all that you need, make the pizza and bake it at like at least a 400 degree oven

can be costly, but oh so good......cuz mama made it...or the wife, or your aunt.

i and my siblings grew up on mama's pizza

she made one at least once per month, and like christmas, we had better be good, or we got the smallest slice.

As a kid I grew up on a dairy farm. The closest town had less than 500 people and no restaurants. Every couple of months my dad would have to venture into the "big city" of a couple thousand people 30 miles away for farm supplies. It had a Pizza Hut and a McDonalds. To my brother and I, that was pure heaven. Pizza at home was the frozen store bought kind. Hamburgers were plain, and on plain white bread. Pizza Hut and McDonalds were a delicacy meant for city slickers. I miss it.

I haven't stepped inside my local Pizza Hut in 35 - 40 years and and never will again. Twice in 6 months time they totally ignored me and my then wife until we got up to leave and then wanted to wait on us.

The first time we walked in , sat down just inside the entrance and waited. We waited to be waited on for about 30 minutes and nothing. We got up and walked out. The second time we had been out riding the motorcycle and were hungry. The ex wanted to give them another chance. So , we stop , go in and sit down. now , the gals who took the orders were with in 20 feet of us so they saw us walk in. Finally I got up and told the ex lets go and That was the end of that.

My wife makes pretty good pizza.

Of the limited number of pizza places near me, Pizza Hut is by far the best. But we haven't had a sit down restaurant around here for years. I do remember them and did like them. Now its order by phone or on-line and they deliver. While convenient, it just ain't the same.
Meat Lovers on classic crust add mushrooms. :D

Anyone remember Shakey’s Pizza, used to be the same thing red cups, a bunch of coin games, Mojo Potatoes (battered fries) and the best fried chicken. The best was that it is an all you can eat buffet style.

The Hut was early in the stuffed crusts...the ex and I fell for the stuffed crust pepperoni lovers. Haven't had one in at least 5 years (divorce changes one's habits I guess).
