dining selection is extremely limited in the town i live including days open and hours of operation. 8 iirc if you include the 2 convient stores. a few of those close between noon and 2pm as others don't open until 3pm and close between 7pm and 10pm. also included in the 8 are 2 food trucks which 1 is very good. the only issue i have with that truck is sometimes they don't have brisket which is what most of us eat when ordering (either in quesadillas or tacos). some order burgers from there which are good also. pretty much operated by a mother and son. the steakhouse is WAY over priced and not that good from the 3 times i've eaten there. the same steakhouse owners also have a 2nd establishment to eat at locally which is better (they also own a few subway deli's). the other places are average food as nothing too really give praise about.
that is certainly an issue, and i fully respect that....
in many areas of the country, Chicago, NY, Detroit, NJ, and New England have a real pizza place in every neighborhood, so many that, Dunkin Donuts, CVS Stores and 7-11's........fight each other to the death for the customers.......ok, not really
but i think you get the idea on the population compared to where you are.
1 of my aunt's has a great recipe for pizza. the dough is really good and the sauce taste so good too me i drink it (then again i drink homemade ranch dressing). i made some for my in-laws about 35 years ago and i don't think i want to do that again as it took nearly all day, but worth it!
many supermarkets do see real pizza dough, and so do many bakeries that sell pastries/breads/pies, etc, for cheap..up here a pound of dough is still $1.00
then a trip to the supermarket, one can find real pizza sauces in cans or glass jars....all the cheeses, and all the veggies, and meats, like the sausages, hamberger, etc, etc.
a home made pizza takes time to buy all that you need, make the pizza and bake it at like at least a 400 degree oven
can be costly, but oh so good......cuz mama made it...or the wife, or your aunt.
i and my siblings grew up on mama's pizza
she made one at least once per month, and like christmas, we had better be good, or we got the smallest slice.
