DoJ gives up defending Suppressor Registry

Is the madness over?
Nope, same ole same ole. from the article

The result is a two-tier Second Amendment. If you hold the right membership card, the federal registry no longer applies to your suppressor. If you don't, nobody in Washington will say. "The DOJ has yet to release any guidance about how the court's decision will impact the NFA's registration requirements for those who fall outside the protection of the injunction," Bearing Arms' Cam Edwards wrote.

That's the way I understand it, as well. Supressors on nothing more than a 4473 for GOA members at my LGS.

No clarity on transfer or "manufacture" of SBRs, SBSs and AOWs. Proceed at your own risk on these.

It should be, no tax means no extra forms or requirements. That is the clarification that needs to be made abundantly clear.

Well, until 2028, the DOJ has given up. Once the anti-gun party takes control in 2028 and egers the majority in SCOTUS, everything that Trump, the Republican majority in Congress, and his DOJ and ATF has done will be reversed and made 10x worse.
Which is why people really need to vote-and for anyone who believes in freedom voting for the wrong side is kinda like “Jews for Hitler”. If you roll overs and play dead you should not act surprised if you get hammered.

I would do SBR the traditional way with a Form1 until the AtF/DOJ clarifies their position.
Suppressors are different right now, but SBR is a massive gray legal area now. Do a free form1 or wait till clarification . Form1’s are super quick now anyway

The facts are firearms are not the evil. Govt and law makers can say all they want, but long before firearms, folks were using clubs, spears and flint tipped wood shanks.
Then came gunpowder.
People are evil. Both criminals and law makers. Prob one in the same.
Folks will use whatever method is technology at the time.
Suppressors and SBRs are no more deadly than any other weapon.
Hell, a skilled bow hunter could wreck havoc quietly.

This. Then we’d have “The bow and arrow control act” of 20..🙄
