    Scheels Store - OMG

Ammo is the one thing in the firearms section I didn't look at. I always go thru trueshotgunclub.com (a few miles from my house) or SGAmmo. Like you, I'm only buying 124gr 9mm now or 147gr subs.

    Scheels Store - OMG

Yesterday - 1st time in a Scheels store (new in Chandler,AZ). OMG - they had almost everything firearms related in stock (well not almost everything - but way above and beyond anything I've ever seen in a physical store). Entire store was pretty impressive as well.

    Ruger sp 101

Sp 101 3" barrel is one of my favorites that I rarely shoot anymore. Its a great firearm. I wanted one since it was introduced in 1989. Picked one up for the 1st time about 7 yrs ago. It was the gun purchase that got me back into shooting. I found the Winchester 110gr .357 JHP are a sweet...

ATF Pistol Brace Ban Struck Down in Federal Court

Even with the current injunction - and the "grace period" expired, personally I would probably not buy a braced pistol now. (as wellarmed stated above - pistol and brace separate would be the way to go.) However, even with the rule - the brace itself was never illegal - it was all about the...

ATF Pistol Brace Ban Struck Down in Federal Court

This is great. Hopefully the direction this will go is to stike out barrel length definitions in the NFA 1934 and more. 1. I don't think this is over. I think there may be more process left. 2. I still think the barrel length limitations in the NFA 1934 can somehow legally be applicable to...

When it comes down to it, what is your "go to" EDC?

I live in AZ - t shirt and shorts most days. With my age and routine, I rarely go any place that is perceived as "bad." (I actually bought an SP 101 357 w/ 3" barrel about 7 years ago thinking I'd carry it - but I never ended up EDCing it.) I originally carried a Glock 43 w/ extended magazine...

Douglas SBD Dauntless: America’s Carrier Killer

I had an SBD/Helldiver pilot (Silver Star winner) - Gill Cathey as a member of a church I attended years ago. He originally flew off the USS Lexington (VB-2?). I had the opportunity to speak at his funeral. I highlighted his service and the experience he would have had flying a mission. His...

    Something New/Something Different (10mm)

22LR, 38/.357, 9mm, 223/556, 300AAC, 12 gauge.............. ....for years I told myself I did not, or would not add another caliber to the collection. Stocking up and maintaing the cache for those calibers was enough. That idea made it easy to avoiding the temptations of add .40, 45, 308...

    New firearm enthusiast

The thing about the Sig P365 series (and other Sigs) is the modularity - factory and aftermarket parts/mods/accessories are almost endless in how you want to build or customize the P365 FCU (Fire Control Unit). Personally, I can just no longer do a stock factory black mass market firearm -...

    New firearm enthusiast

Welcome from Tempe, AZ, Ideally hit a range and try out a few options for EDC - Hellcat, Shield plus, Sig P365 varieties, Glock 43x, etc. I went thru the following (owned all) - Glock 43; Sig P365; Sig P365XL; Walther PPS M2 (loved this one - but with my aging eyes went dots and wanted higher...

    Let's see your AR setups...

It just never ends....... (This was supposed to be my "poor man's MP5" - now its just not even close.) Picked up a 3 lug muzzle device several months ago in anticipation of Form 4 approvals. Suppressors (approved early Aug.) fit fine on the AP5s. However - on the Angstadt Arms AR9 - 6"...

Holosun AEMS (Green) - new to me

With my particular astigmatism, I find green works best for my eyes. May not be the case for everyone. (Also in AZ - when shooting outdoors - no issue with losing the green in lush woods foliage. I've read that is an issue with green and I've read it isn't an issue with green.)

    Shooting and Prescription Eyeglasses Question(s)

Eye exam was last Thursday - glasses exam the following day. I asked about shooting - doc was not helpful. He wasn't an *** - but said something to the effect of shooting is complicated with sight and different distances - but did not offer any help. Last years exam, I brought a slide in...

    Shooting and Prescription Eyeglasses Question(s)

As I have gone exclusively to dots now - and my focus is on the target vs front sight - I was thinking a regular single vision with astigmatism correction would be the way to go......but wanted to solicit perspective from the forum. Thanks.

    Shooting and Prescription Eyeglasses Question(s)

That's funny - I picked these up from Walmart last week for $6 to try - I don't think they will do anything for the astigmatism, though -

    Shooting and Prescription Eyeglasses Question(s)

I'm 59 with astigmatism in both eyes. (Also Type 1 diabetic - but no eye damage - just possible inconsistency in vision with fluctuating blood sugars). My distance vision is decent for my age, but the issue is mostly reading and the astigmatism. I have noticed deterioration over the last 7...
