My local shop called Friday and said it's in. I picked it up saturday. Serial 6697
This was a year ago I put 325 bucks down to order an EMP4 CCC - which SA promptly discontinued. So I told them just get me an SA-35. Paid retail plus another 34 bucks for a spare mag. Will get to shoot later this...
50yd zero on my AR15's using an Eotech XPS2. Closer than 50 just wrap the big circle on center mass and go bang.
I love the holo sight because astigmatism. With glasses on the holo is super crisp.
I prefer the cds over the hellcat.
I had the 3" xd subcompact. Loved it and it is a great shooter but as far as edc, I might as well carry the 4" xd40 I have.
Compared to the xds mod2, the defender 3" is a brick. I now carry the xds with 7+1 and the 9rd backup.
I also practice with the bedside gun on a regular basis so when I grab it in the dark it is familiar and I know how to shoot it.
I have no problems swapping between any of my springfield pistols. I guess you would say I am a Springfield handgun junky. They handle well, they are reliable, and I...
I use my original XD40 4" with a Crimson Trace light for bedside duty. It has been my nightly companion for well over 10 years now and is as reliable as they come.. Also, beside that is my edc XDS mod2 3.3 9mm as backup. There are a couple other things located in other places if needed.
Since I am now carrying my new xds, I run the 7rd +1 in the gun and a single spare 9rd in a mag holder. Both gun and mag IWB, appendix with the gun and the mag @ 7:00.
If I carry my 10mm it goes with just the 15+1 for urban carry. 1911 gets the same treatment as the xds with 8+1 and a spare...
There may be some political things going on, but I don't think forum posts about guns are going to be used against us as they were bought legally and in accordance with law. Tin Foil hats aren't needed here.
I like flexibility as well depending on where, when, how long I am staying, etc. The XDS is my main edc because it is comfortable sitting/standing/whatever in appendix carry.
I will carry the 1911 or 10mm when I am doing a lot of standing and feel like Conan.
The main thing is to be familiar...
I fire a 1911 a lot and will carry it some as well. The thumb safety is great and a natural feeling to me. On my xd40, xds 9 and xdm 10mm, my thumb still gets that "activation" of a safety as I go to shooting position and the thumb slides over and down the slide release. I am a Springfield...
I am a relatively new concealed carrier, although I have been shooting for 40 years. I have holstered for years while out shooting. Once I was heading to get my concealed, I started practicing appendix carry from the first thought. I have drawn hundreds upon hundreds of times in practice prior...
I swapped out this week from my old skool XD9 3" to the "new" XDS Mod2 3.3 9mm. I prefer the XDS over the Hellcat. It's a feel thing. As soon as my holster arrives tomorrow it will be on me. The difference in comfort carrying the XDS is tremendous over the thicker and bulkier (also heavier!)...
In the end as long as you have tested the specific ammo in your gun, any good brand will do the job.
Is a bad guy going to care if the jhp opened up to .475" or only to .395" ? Probably not, especially if it lands in vital areas. Dead is dead.
I have 3 of those for different guns, no complaints at all. Works equally well appendix carry or 3:00 with a belt adjustment.
I carry my 10mm XDM appendix just fine and actually find it more comfortable than my XD9 3" - it sits further down "in the groove" on appendix carry and doesn't dig into...
My opinion? If ever, and I hope I NEVER have to pull my gun on anyone - but if I do - I am going to shoot for center mass/kill zone. Until the threat is stopped. If the attacker is alive and down and has no more gun or cannot attack me any more, I am not going to dump rounds into him. But if and...
