Ok this is one of my favorites from my collection. I wanted one for years and when we finally had some disposable income, my wife and I discussed it. The deal we settled on was I get the gun and she gets a hot tub. She sure is enjoying her hot tub.
Yes sir that's nice. Melvin Maynard Johnson made a few contributions to the firearms industry. If it hadn't been for his light machine gun, Stoner couldn't have down sized it make the AR platform. Nice gun I am envious.
Get on the Johnson Automatics forum if you haven’t already. Lots of info there. One of M. M. Johnson’s sons is on there and has some of the records and can give you some details on yours if he has the data for your serial number.
I am a Garand nut, and when I had a chance to get one I jumped on it. I had to compare them. I’ve shot mine quite a bit, which makes some people squirm, but it’s a window to history and you have to look in.
That's a great find, and I'm betting you'll enjoy the wife's hot tub far more than she'll enjoy your Johnson ... or maybe not? (no offense intended, just a fun play on words)
