I’m tired of these ignorant people making comments on firearms and 2A issues. Even the “conservative” pundits. Last night I heard “high powered rifle”, “automatic assault weapon”, automatic AR15”, “M4” and others. And these were all on Fox News. Never heard any of these descriptions corrected. My blood was boiling the whole time. These ignorant comments play into the anti-gunner’s rhetoric.Some-Head on TV called the rifle the perp used an AK-15 machinegun.

Details are still being discovered. Seems it was a self-diagnosed or "suspected" case of CTE.
"Tamura expressed grievances against the NFL for his belief that he had Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, a brain disease caused by repeated head injuries and impacts..."
However:
"The NYPD said Tamura had a documented mental health history, which [Mayor]Adams addressed in his "proactive" approach to preventing another act of violence..."
As you mentioned, people can lie, cheat, and game the system. That's the way it is in a free and open society. It reminds me of John Adams' quote, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
