Another trip to the range with the HellCat Pro

Good point. I purchased my HC Pro for the singular purpose of carry. Fortunately I haven't been disappointed.

Ok . Slightly rephrasing my intended inquiry :

What general expectations of handling , and shooting in realistic context do you consider acceptable / desireable for " purpose of carry " . ( For the moment , the subject is already established with 9mm , and caliber wars temporarily suspended .)

My expectations for a handgun the size of the HellCat is from concealment putting 2 rounds on target (A zone) in 2 seconds target at 10 yards. Has to be optic ready (old eyes) and able to be concealed with only an untucked shirt. Zero printing appendix carry. I am not a big guy 5’9” 170 pounds. I like the fact the HellCat has 15 rds in a flush fit magazine allowing for a full grip no pinky finger hanging off. That helps a lot with recoil control. For me the HellCat has proven it’s accurate enough all the way out to 100 yards. If printing wasn’t a concern I would have opted for a little larger handgun. And my expectations would change a bit. Faster shots 10 rds on target in 5 seconds A zone hits and 2rds in the A zone in 1.5 seconds from concealment target at 10 yards. With an even smaller gun my expectations would change again allowing for slower accurate shots. Because it’s harder to control. Or it is for me. A handgun chambered in 9mm doesn’t bother me when I have 15 rds without a mag change. Bullet technology has come a long way. And now unlike the 80’s a 9mm is able to expand and still reach vitals. With things being the way they are I really do think you need more than 5 rounds and a reload. I live in a small town but crime happens here also not as often as in the big cities. I’m retired but I work a part time job as a fuel clerk. I had a gang banger point a gun at me. I’m behind bullet resistance glass and walls. I flipped him off and had a few choice words for him. If I had been outside the kiosk I would have handled it differently. More than likely there would have been a gunfight that night. I would had made it a priority to make it home to my family **** on the job. That’s the thing about needing a gun you never know where you will be when you need it. All you can do is carry the biggest gun you can conceal and shoot quickly and accurately. Hope I explained my expectations more clearly that I did in my last post.
