Any SHORT shotgun fans?

Im a big fan of tactical shotguns. I carried a 870 in green and blue uniforms for 35+ years. I suppose 18" is fine but shorter is better, somewhere around 10-12 inches carries and moves better in tight places. The TAC 14s are nice but add a stock and it becomes truly useful.

Start with a SxS and you can go even shorter. I carried a pistol grip 9" SxS in a holster for a while, just to say I did. I dont have a Short O/U but its on my list

I only have three short one, but have a few magazine fed ones

Both 12ga. The one on the right has 10" barrels and the one on the left has 6" barrels

The one on the right is a chopped Pedersoli Howdah 20ga. The one on the left is a Pedersoli 45/410

NOPE, I ain't shootin either of them.
The 12ga can be a little zippy. When I "carry" it I load it with the Mini 00 loads. They only have 6 pellets but are much more pleasant on the shooters side. I suspect theyll work fine at across the room distance. I bought the Pedersolis to go with my Howdahs. The BP/hammer version is fine; but 45/410 is small for a real Howdah

Even in the age of PD Patrol Rifles I grabbed my shotgun more than the rifle, NOT for that stupid "clickity clack" everybody pisses there pants BS; but for the giant gapping hole and 9 pellets of hate they unleash
Me too. I was taught it was my primary weapon back in the day. I was present a couple times when a miscreant was cancelled with an 870, it is DRT effective. At home always have one in arms reach

Love my shorties. "Mushroom-guns". (Carried when hunting mushrooms. More people have been killed by wild mushrooms than wild bears :ROFLMAO:). However, I want a stock on the damn thing, shorter than normal is acceptable but still a stock. JMHO, a pistol gripped shotgun while looking cool, is only slightly more useful than two tails on a dog.

EXACTLY Its not the perfect ONLY weapon, it does have limitations but its a really great weapon within its abilities. If you can control the environment then nothing is better

Youre NOT wrong. For a fighting weapon yes I want a buttstock. That being said in tight confines, of say when travelling in a vehicle a PGO is a lot more usable. Remember the old Ithaca Auto and Burglar guns were designed for that purpose. Carjackings have returned that as a concern. I carried the 6" version (see above pics) daily for months (along with a handgun), usually under nothing more than a vest or jacket. The larger 10" isnt as easy to belt carry but it does drop in a bag.

Without a stock it has a shorter practical range but a definite fight stopper and sometimes BEFORE the fight starts.

I own two not a shotguns.
Honcho 12ga and Rem Tac14 12ga.
Should get a Mossberg, the one that will take shorties as well as standard.

Otherwise the shortest I have is a Stoager coach gun.

Now just because they will take bayonets and will likely scare anyone dumb enough to be in front of me that needs scared, I have the Mossberg 590 retro wood, a rather nice looking sds imports Turkish pump and another Mossberg 590.
Those are shorter barreled 18" full sized shotguns though and I did need a 18" barrel for my 870.

I kind of want a "door opener" or "pass key" type real shorty pump.
Don't know who makes those yet.

"Clickity Clack" is a shoot there target indicator. The only thing a bad guy should hear is his buddy falling down...OK and the safety if hes got reeeely god ears
