Dusted off an old Long Slide and took it to the Range and in front of the Challege Course, as the timer went off cleaned the five targets with the last a plate at 25 yards with iron sights with a clang in a bit over two seconds. The look on the young man's face a couple lanes down, priceless... Hell, I impressed myself for an old Boomer.

I have been a 1911 fan for over 50 years. What gets me is the experts who say it was made in 1911. That is when the army bought it. It was designed in the 1890's. Do a little research before you make a post.

I'm a 1911 guy from way back. The first handgun I ever fired was an Army issue 1911A1. It felt so natural in my hand I qualified Expert.
My primary carry for most of my adult life is a Colt LW Commander in .45acp.
I currently own 20+ 1911s in various brands, sizes and calibers.
I just love the 1911!
