I think there will always be a place for the 1911. Now the question is will the "new" generation accept the platform.
Unless he is stricken with some debilitating disease{God forbid!} I look for Mas to die with his boots on, doing what he does best... Shooting and writing...Might be time for Mas to retire.

Hmm had a 220 back in 1996 and never really warmed up to it and ended with the H&K USP, in God's caliber of course... As for a safety? Had a de-cocker, but no safety other than my finger and DA first...I think I have already retired the 1911. Still carry 45ACP, in a more modern form.
