I love the concept of a PCC but I just can't get past the fact that it is still a pistol caliber.
Theres nothing wrong with a lever gun for self defense, especially if you live in a BLUE state that doesnt allow ARs etc. The Space Cowboy guns that surfaced a few years ago allow lights and lasers to be easily mounted. Some will want 30-30 or 45-70; but pistol calibers like 44 or 45LC are good and 38/357 allows even more ammo on board. A handgun in a matching cartridge can be beneficial; but really not necessary.[ Pulling on my Retro Hat ]
Expand " Pistol Caliber Rifles " fully , to include Leverguns .
.44 Mag rifles are respectable brush guns in their own right , even if you don't have a companion handgun .
I have hunted with .357 levergun . The tricky thing with them , is finding projectiles with desired terminal performence at rifle velocity .
But yeah . They don't have detatchable 20 or 30 rd mags , or look tacticool .
So where does the title of “can we have a little fun” lead to you criticizing folks picks on a purely fabricated “why if” post.Theres nothing wrong with a lever gun for self defense, especially if you live in a BLUE state that doesnt allow ARs etc. The Space Cowboy guns that surfaced a few years ago allow lights and lasers to be easily mounted. They certainly have the advantage of not looking as threatening to a jury, if that ever becomes an issue
Woa brother. Where did you hear any criticism in my post? Im pretty sure everything I said was positive, Bigfoot even said "even if you don't have a companion handgun." I support the concept of a lever gun (again especially if you live where you cant own a semi)... I dont see any criticism, there was certainly none intended. So where does the title of “can we have a little fun” lead to you criticizing folks picks on a purely fabricated “why if” post.
Who cares if it’s beneficial, fantasyland, or a pulse laser rifle. You asked the question then criticized the same people’s posts on type of firearm
Lots of your responses in this thread you started to criticize their choice…Woa brother. Where did you hear any criticism in my post? Brother we must speak different English. NOTHING Ive said was meant as a critique. Regarding the PCC/SMG comment, remember it was MY choice. By saying they have Pros and Cons (excel and dont), I was merely stating facts AND the reason I chose that platform.Lots of your responses in this thread you started to criticize their choice…
”nothing wrong with a lever gun”
-“think of PCCs as an extension of the SMG class. Just like SMGs there a place where they excel and places were they dont.”
They chose it. Who cares what it is or why they want it .. who cares if there is a place for it..![]()
Mini gun.i'd pick the "Tommy Gun".....
Fine selection. The flag patch, Arizona?Ok - basic suburban/urban home defense for me -
Hard to choose - but I would be ok going with any of the following below -
Except the 16" AR (bottom); Also, as I'm not a shotgun guy, the Beretta A300 would be my last choice.
*Ruger LC 10mm - 16" barrel. Hits hard. Low recoil. Glock magazines. Heavy. Over-penetration?? May not be the best logical choice - but may be my emotional favorite.
*AR in 300 blackout (FDE) - 9.5" barrel. low recoil. High velocity with 9mm gr. weights.- this may be the one.
*AP5P - 9mm. Very compact. Easily suppressed. Reliable. No lock back on last round.
*AP5 - 9mm. Easily suppressed. Reliable. No lock back on last round. (may favor this one over the AP5P)
*Beretta A300 Patrol - 63 projectiles with 00 buck. Loud. Fear factor, 19" barrel - long and harder to maneuver around corners. limited number of trigger pulls. Recoil a negative.
*Aug - 5.56 - compact w/ 16" barrel - could add the 300blkout barrel assembly for another option.
*AR 9mm.- Glock mags - pairs well with my Glock 19 and Platypus. Very compact. Low recoil. Over-penetration??
*AR 5.56 (Gray furniture) - 11.5" barrel.

Im rekindling a former love affair with AKs. I think the AK-105 may be the MILF of the family. Sure the basic AK is cool and the Krink is sexy; but for for me the 105 series with its mid length (12") barrel seems just about perfect BUT an AK isnt a AK unless its in 762x39For me probably the AK, my old, trusty and proven Mitchell Arms Yugo, or else maybe Colt M-forgery. Glock 19 or one of my BHP's as sidearm.Depending on circumstances, Mossberg 500 w/long tube... all of these have shown their worth over the decades and never failed me. Working weapons for my job(s), not range toys.
Me like; me want!
