High Voltage was a breath of fresh air. I kinda went crazy. We saw them at The Old Waldorf, and then I went back the next night and saw them again. "Let There Be Rock" was still an import album at the time and we couldn't even buy it in the USA yet. Sorry for the drift.

There was an 80's band from Scotland that hit it big in the US, for a few top 20 songs on Kasey Kasem's radio show. Called Big Country, their eponymous first song was heavy on the bagpipes, just the way I like it! My dad took me to see the Black Watch, 3rd Scots, Royal Regiment band when they were in Chicago back in the mid-70's. I've been hooked on Scottish bagpipes ever since. I'm proud of my Scots ancestry that goes back to the Orkney Islands when it was settled by Vikings!
