Newbie....... We didn't have printers. We had to go down to the Shell station on the corner and get maps. Of course, back then, the maps were free.

I remember those and the little troubleshooting pamphlets that Shell offered along with the maps. I collected them for and giggles, because my grandpa owned a Texaco station. Best auto repair in NW Indiana!

My gramps & dad bestowed upon me all of the automotive know-how they possessed. Unfortunately, the same didn't apply to the $500,000 worth of Snap-On tools, which curiously were stolen the literal day after my dad passed. Sadly, I know who did it but as any cop worth his salt will tell you, it's not what you know but what you can PROVE.

I think it was Texaco you could send a postcard with your destinations and they would send you a trip ticket with the best route marked out. I think AAA did that also.

Texaco was also big on S&H Green Stamps. I collected those like they were US postage stamps.
