Dead Deer Carcass

I hate to put this up here, but a car killed a deer, it fell in my yard 75 yards from my back patio. Due to a berm, I did not see it until today, and it's bloated and reeks to high heaven. City and county both refused to pick it up, local disposal company wants $200 to do it. Is powdered lime the best way to accelerate decomposition? The stink would make a billy-goat puke... Anything else I could do to quicken the decomposition? I live within city limits that prohibit dowsing it with kerosine and burning.

Yes, I googled but found little on this specific topic. Probably to prevent Goodfellas or Casino situation how-to content!
 
My god man, what kind of state do you live in ? In Missouri I can think of 15 different ways to easily dispose of that, including just calling the Mo Dept. of Conservation who will come and get it. As will county animal control. If it were me, since you are getting the run around from the county, I would wait until dark and then drag it up on the road. Whoever maintains that road should have to come and get it.

As I posted, the city won't take it, the county won't take it, the WI-DNR said they don't care and it's not their concern, and the garbage disposal company told me not to put it in their garbage container. There are major power lines running in the direct area and I have no interest in spending 4 hours digging a hole with a shovel (I don't have a backhoe), and I live in city limits. My plan now is to drag it back up on to the shoulder after dark tonight.

I recognize this is not an issue if you don't live within a city, but I do (admittedly not a big one, only 6k residents)...and I am limited with what I can do...

I have never heard of any city that holds a homeowner responsible for disposal of carcasses of animals hit on a city road that landed on their property.

I don't really know what will stop the stink. Around here any dead animal will be dispatched quickly by bald faced buzzards, hawks, eagles, coyotes, etc..

lime is what mobsters used at times to quicken decomposition of a body. (other than liquid acid)

i live in an ethnic neighborhood, and Italy is where my grandparents come from.

i need not say anymore.
