I always thought I wanted an M1 carbine, just never found the right one. Then dad passed on and left me his 'Universal'. But I made it a safe queen for a few years, and before I realized it I had included it in a bunch of guns I gave to my 'yard' son when the wife and I moved into the "institution" (retirement community), as I like to call it. Never fired one shot from it and likely never will. My 'yard' son and his family live in N Dakota, and when he/they do travel back and forth from there to here, they fly and it's a real PITA to fly with guns as we all know. Oh well, we live and learn. Don't misunderstand, he would bring it back if I asked him to, but it's destined to be his anyway when my time comes.
