good day at the range

Hi!

who said Friday the 13th is bad luck...??

i saw no black cats, i walked under no ladders, i slipped on no ice, and i had a good bowel movement this morning...

and to top it off, i took my new HK, VP 9, out of rotation mind you..and had a great time.

oh sure 1 really high flier, not unusual for me to have a few of those

VP9 is good stuff! Nice work on your targets.

Thank you for your indulgence,

well, i took my S&W MP 2.0, 45 to the range, and had a "semi-good" day...

the fans for venting the range blow into each port, right behind your back..

my paper targets were waving backwards, and my shoots were lousy.

i asked the RSO if the vent fans can be directed away, he said no, but he saw my situation, and gave me 2 paper clips with magnets, to hold down the targets and they worked...so on my way home, i stopped at the Staples store and got a package of 3.

my second target was much better, but the first few hits were low, thanks again to the blowing air, and before i asked for help.

pic of my 2nd target with the clips i bought, to weigh it down, and it does work......for paper targets.

i only will, need 2 clips, but for show and tell, i put all 3 on

I see a big raggedy hole! Nice work, even if the target wouldn't stay still. I have a similar problem at my ranges. At the newer range the targets get blown back and forth if the fans are going full tilt, like yours. At the older facility the target carriers will rock side to side for a while after you send them out to distance. Sometimes I will sweep brass while the target settles.

I'm hoping to get out tomorrow and punch some holes. I got nothing else going on. I want to work with the new Holosun on the Echelon, get it zeroed properly. Should be fun.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Being the constant tinkerer I had several pistols I wanted to function check. Put a 9lb recoil spring in my new 2K11 Comp which was giving me FTBs. I’m still breaking it in, but my other two had no issues. Put a ZRTS captive recoil spring in my PDP Pro X PMM and swapped a DPP onto my P211. I had cataract surgery just before Christmas and had multifocal lenses put in. Well guess what? I used to use green dots because red dots flared and now with the new eyes it has reversed! So I’m swapping dots where I can. Long story short, they all worked fine with no FTBs on the Kimber. Left target was the 2K11, Center P211 and right was PDP all at 10 yds. The head box was all three at 15yds. I’ve primarily been shooting 2011s for the last several months and I feel like I have to do a brain switch when I shoot striker fired, but I’m happy to see that the end results are all pretty similar. All three guns are comped as well.

Sorry @Belt Fed I swapped the magwell back. I like it all black.

After all the tweaks, nice work! Belt Fed might want to buy that target from you. ;)
