We thought the same thing, but a 8million person metroplex decided Sunday was the day to go to the range. First time ever on a Sunday it was this way. Usually calm .

Hey! That does look like a good day at the range, Lay-Z-Boy or not.
Were those hits to the left really because of your reloads? Or was it operator error?
I don't reload so I can't use that excuse. 
That looked like a good workout. It's good to see you putting holes in things.

for me, since i shoot so many different guns, i have found that each gun, even say for instance..ANY of my 1911's, has a different trigger pull (even if the trigger pull weights are nearly all the same), and finger placement on 1 1911, is different from the other...
same with ANY plastic gun, same with ANY metal gun in the 9mm caliber.
also i shoot with my left eye closed, and use both hands to hold the guns.
and as far as i can tell, and see, all my iron sights are lined up.
if i left the RSO shoot any of my guns, he hits the bullseye....
so..........operator error, finger placement, trigger pull weights.
one thing for sure, and god forbid, if i ever "have to stop the threat", the attacker will most certainly, "bleed out"

I'm not razzing you. I'm commiserating with you. I have the same issue. While I don't have as many guns as others, I do have enough that I do not instantly recall the slight variations between trigger press, sight picture, 6 o'clock hold, etc. With range toys it's not so critical but I'm striving for consistency with my EDC units. For me, it's a neverending battle.

i didn't take any offense, it is a gigantic PITA to waste maybe 2 to 5 shots just to sight in the pistol, and getting the finger on trigger adjustment that on the gun that i am shooting, so using reloads first is my usual way to start.Hi,

someone said (a time or 2) that when we are under duress as in an attack situation, all bets are off as far as pin-point accuracy of that in a range practice.
i think, but cannot be sure, that is was BassBob....

Took the new M1A to the range today to zero it in. I went local to an indoor range who only had 25 yd lanes and no tree to lean on! I haven’t shot a gun like this before and I didn’t have my wingman with me and wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Well, it turns out a gun’s a gun. First two sets of shots went high right and I started dialing in the scope. I knew I was on the right track when I put two rounds in one hole in the 10 ring and from there quickly got on bull.
From there I put a 25/50 target to dial in for 50yds, which went swimmingly once I got my head around which direction to adjust the reticle to aim at the upper square, but hit the lower. I figured it out eventually.
And then I decided to have some fun and stuck the trusty four inch splatter burst on the noggin and allowed for the 50 yd zero. The M1A is electrifying and the perverse pleasure in being louder than the guy shooting a shotgun next you and the guy with the 8.5in SBR next to him. Oddly enough, both had gone by the time I finished. I went home with a buzz on, ready to hit the 100yd range next - right as it is about to get scorchio here!
