Sorry, I just realized I paid no attention to the last part you mentioned about "44." I asked because during Biden, those who did the brace had a several month wait while those who paid the $200 tax at that same time had as short as a couple of weeks wait.
I have to wonder how can they suddenly afford to give $200 price breaks? It's almost as if, like Glock, they were charging consumers a lot more than it cost to make the product. Glock seems to be able to afford to practically give there guns away to military and L.E departments. They will always sell to first responders for a little more, but still at a discount. When it comes to average citizens, they get charged much more.Tax free wont take place until Jan 1 2026, silencershop has told its dealers, and now capitol Armory is also advising the same.
Some mfg’s and such are adapting with 200 dollar rebates, since they know the market is going to slow to a crawl. Others are advising that you should buy now to beat the “rush”. My additional advice is to go out and get your EFT electronic finger prints done (not silencershop) but where you actually gat the EFT file, that speeds things up tremendously.
IMO, Suppressors have always been a bit over-priced, considering their really very simple.I have to wonder how can they suddenly afford to give $200 price breaks? Get er doneShucks…all I want is a SBR!
Tax has gone away on that also. No more tax on SBR, SBS, AOW or suppressors starting whenever it starts. Most are saying January 1st, 2026.Shucks…all I want is a SBR!
Why would any 2A advocate be against removing the tax? It would be better to remove suppressors, SBS, SBR & AOW off the registry all together, but this is a step in the right direction. Most people on other forums are complaining and are upset about the removal of the tax. They seem to be against the removal and want the tax to remain. I just don't get it. Seems more people are upset that Republicans finally gave us civilian gun owners something after over a century. It's not perfect, but at least it's something. It's the best they could do with the amount of votes they had. Damned if they do and damned if they don't.
Let me offer this …. perhaps some want there to be a minimal barrier to entry ?Why would any 2A advocate be against removing the tax? It would be better to remove suppressors, SBS, SBR & AOW off the registry all together, but this is a step in the right direction.
That would be a stupid reason. 2A rights apply to every citizen. Unless you lose the right via felony conviction. There should be NO barriers to entry… The 2nd amendment doesn’t say the right to bear arms - unless you’re an idiot.Let me offer this …. perhaps some want there to be a minimal barrier to entry ?
Spend even 10 minutes at your local gun show and you’ll see someone, maybe several people, who probably shouldn’t own a firearm in the first place.(think Darwin Award candidate)
The tax may - to the way of thinking of some - keep that shallow end of the gene pool from getting into the finer side of firearm ownership.
Just a thought.
Disclaimer: I am not in favor of the gubment regulating (taxing) a right that exists by way of the bill of rights.

I'm certainly not, i didn't think it would happen and it hasn't yet. i hope it does go away and people can get one. not jealous at all.I wonder if those who have paid the tax are jealous of those who won't have to
I’m not jealous either. And it HAS happened. No tax on suppressors, SBS, SBR & AOW are now $0. It’s law passed by Congress and signed by President Trump. Should start Jan 1. Now, we just need to get registration removed from the NFA.I'm certainly not, i didn't think it would happen and it hasn't yet. i hope it does go away and people can get one. not jealous at all.
Like i said, hasn't started yet. a lot can happen between now and then.Should start Jan 1.
I don’t disagree with your position, just offering an alternate theory as to why some are in favor of the tax. Do you have a theory as to why the tax has its supporters? That would be a stupid reason. 2A rights apply to every citizen. Unless you lose the right via felony conviction. I have heard an argument that if the tax can be removed it can just as easily be put back and increased to infinity and beyond. The seal being broken…I don’t disagree with your position, just offering an alternate theory as to why some are in favor of the tax. Do you have a theory as to why the tax has its supporters?
In a very general sense without delving too deeply into the previous SCOTUS position, no tax, no NFA. So I suppose if the NFA is now back in front of SCOTUS, it gets eliminated once and for all….so goes the thinking.I have heard an argument that if the tax can be removed it can just as easily be put back and increased to infinity and beyond. The seal being broken…
But somehow if NFA is removed it can’t be put back in play? I didn’t pursue the matter any further.
