Have You Cleared Your House?

My suburban home was built by hispanics in 5 weeks along with the other 4000 homes in my subdivision.
The bonus is I can shoot thru the house and kill the armed intruder as he stands in the yard with his gang banger buddies. Well placed shots thru my glass will go thru his car.
The big bad wolf can huff and puff and blow my house down, but he cant do it if his lungs are perforated with .300 weatherby mag

I practice clearing my house fairly and I have come up with a list of do's & dont's should the real need arise. And I've figured what works best for me. I would like to hear your thoughts on the subject.

Arrive home I wait and look around my B4 B4 pushing button to open garage. I have a small garage so it's easy to evaluate. Next close garage door and wait until the door is completely closed B4 unlocking my door then check per miter cameras to see who stopped by. Long time ago a friend got waylaid when he pulled into garage. B4 I had cameras I had a German Shepherd who kept the house safe when left at home. When you leave to go shopping or like us to doctors office wait until the door is completely closed then be on your way. We have had brake ins in our area.when I was single I had a plastic note hanging from my mirror that just said SMILE. If I clear house in the late night because a unknown sound woke me I use a hall cannon ( Judge ) with backup.

The dogs keep the house cleared. They practice continually.

I practice fairly often with my bedside carry, and occasionally I'll pull out larger firearms, specifically my AR and my bullpup shotgun and run drills with them. That said, for all three, I only run iron sights as any scenario involving the interior of my house is AT MOST 10m or less. I have one long alley from the far wall of the master suite to the guest hallway that runs perpendicular on the opposite side of the house.

That said, an additional question you should have on this post is: Do you have every room "stocked" with a firearm and a couple magazines, or do you feel like that would just give would-be intruders a stronger foothold by arming them?

Before I say anything else We live 40 miles East of the nearest traffic signal. We lock our doors and windows at night and our house is situated so you can't see it from the road. According to my reading and research that puts us way down on the list of potential targets.




I didn't know this is a real thing that you can program your smart home to do.

I don't have a smart home but when my daughter renovated the house we live in she put in lights like what's in the video.

Every night at dusk we turn on the one in the back hallway the one in the dining room and the one in the kitchen. That's enough to light up the majority of the house enough for us to move around, watch TV, and stuff like that. We leave them on all night. We also have guard chickens.


The master bedroom is at one end of the house with only one way to get to it.

Having said all that I don't see any reason to clear my house if I wake up in the middle of the night and I think there's somebody in the house that isn't myself for my wife. We're going to barricade the bedroom door and let them know we're calling the police.

The only exception would be if an intruder did something to my cat. You would sooner mess with John Wick's dog than my cat.
