Hellcat vs. 10mm 1911 for EDC and Open Carry

Thanks for your service J-doo. I hear ya, I have the TRP in 45 along with a SA A1 RO 45. People (including me) post about their other guns on here a lot. Even the Mods mention their other brand firearms. SA doesn’t mind, it’s good for business if people like all guns, and they will most likely eventually buy SA, since they make a quality product.

Bridget owns the Range Officer Elite in 10mm. (At least in this video). I have a TRP 10mm w/ 6” bbl along with 1911 10mm‘s: Ruger SR1911 & Colt Delta Elite. No problem mentioning other brands here J-Doo, unless you really don’t want to.
I had one of the early Colt Delta elites in 10mm in the 80's when they first hit the market and it developed a crack in the frame after about 200 rounds and Colt was back peddling at fixing it under warranty but they gave in after a lawyer sent them a letter, It was returned for repair I got it back it had a new frame and serial number and I had to go thru the FFL dealer just like buying another handgun what a nightmare. I traded it in on the Bren 10. The crack was at the bottom on the inside of the form near the slide release holes and went upwards to the frame rail . I think it was a casting flaw that caused it.

That sounds like a nightmare scenario. All of my Colts have been reliable so far. Especially my AR’s. I found the Delta Elite in the Cabela’s gun library last year for a price I couldn’t pass up. It’s banged up a little but it functions well. My Kimber took me about 200 rounds before it would function properly. That’s the one gripe I have with Kimber, breaking them in. My Springfield 1911’s have had zero issues.

Hey Bridget since I have received my Springfield HellCat OSP 9mm I have been loving it! I think its the best micro 9mm on the market today, I like everything about it, the grip, looks, feel the sights, its natural point of aim, comfort and accuracy & firepower of 14 shots in a micro pistol is just outstanding. I can't wait for Springfield Armory to get the shield red dot sight back in stock they are one hundred dollars cheaper than optics planet. I have run about 500 rounds thru my HellCAT 9mm, not one malfunction or jam no so-called trigger hiccups inexperienced shooters snivel about and try to bash the Springfield Armory Name, I bet they never owned a Springfield Hell Cat or they feel slighted because they paid more for their little NAZI lower capacity compact that has been plagued with problems since it was produced. I hope you enjoy the little HellCat as much as I do.

My Colt 1911 10mm delta was a blue steel version of the mid-1980's production I purchased it in 1988 or 1989? those are some nice looking Springfields I had an Old Kimber Government Stainless classic 1911 I swapped my Son in a trade I never had a problem with it at all it would feed an empty shell case.

I was just kidding about mentioning other brands because this is an SA forum. I have a Colt Delta Elite and a Kimber Eclipse Custom 10mm. I have heard good things about the 10mm SR1911. I have a Range Officer Champion in .45 which is why I was looking at the TRP. I really like my Springfield 1911’s. I am a lefty also and Springfield has a lot more 1911’s with the ambi safety. I qualified with and carried a Colt in the Navy so I’ve always had a special place in my heart for the 1911.
The kimber ice looks sweet in the 10mm (perfect number)! I just can't talk myself into anything less than 12 rounds. My only perfect numbers!

Love that 2 tone on top!

I really want to get that Hellcat! But first, I want to get into 10MM. I've wanted 10MM for some time, but the retail prices on the XDM-10 are dropping, so I think I'll get that first....

Unless Springfield comes out with an XDM Elite in 10MM... in which case, I'll melt down my debit card to get my hands on it!! Hint, hint, Springfield!!

Hey Bridget, That's not you! What are you doing with that "girl gun"? LOL! :D Just bustin your chops. Great video review. How cool would it be if Springfield chambered that Hellcat in 10MM!!!!!!!!!!! That would be better than my older two-tone XDS in .45acp. Shooting it is like a "E" ticket ride at Disney Land.

Had a similar problem recently with Springfield sending me a different 6" TRP 10mm Operator to My house in The Socialist State of N.J., with out sending it to a FFL!

That is a plan in the making. What most don't realize is that NJ is mostly red, county by county. The high electoral votes that come from the NE (Newark/jersey city), SE ( Atlantic city area) and central West ( Trenton/ Camden) part of the state stick us with blue. Those are the **** areas of NJ that no one wants to be in, the rest is TRUMP country!

You said it! I grew up in morris co.,from the '70s-'90s. 20 yrs. ago I moved up to sussex co. close to the Delaware river and PA. Morris is still red, but all the open farm land is disappearing to mc mansions and mini malls.

Nice video! I was hoping to see you in action shooting the 10mm. I have small hands and am interested in how people load a round into the chamber. Rack and slide or slide release lever. But I suppose with you being a Leftie, you use the Rack and slide?

I am an inexperienced shooter. Put about 400 rounds (various brands) trough my Hellcat and had not a single jam or malfunction.
I only had one user-related issue - depressing accidentally the mag release during firing at range. I needed to work on my grip on this small gun.
