If I were in your shoes, I would use the shotgun you have until you see how you like turkey hunting.

I have a 590 with a 20 inch barrel and ghost ring sights, but I had a gunsmith thread the barrel for choke tubes. I think the choke is more important than the barrel length. I love the ghost rings and I use a Xtra full tube for turkey hunting. I've taken 3 turkeys with it.
