I'M "BORED" WITH FIREARMS

Hi,

Nice collection there Cliff!

I like it, just a mishmash of different stuff to keep it fun. Some for self defense or home defense, others just for fun at the range.

Also

SHOW OFF! 😁

Oh, c'mon. I know you guys have rooms full of firearms. I'm sure some of you have as many 1911s as I have in my whole collection. At least I won't need too big of a boat.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

I don’t own any guns…… not at all…..really…….😬

9mm is less appealing, but has a small attraction depending on brands.................

10mm is a sweet spot, but has limitations on brands and styles..........

45acp has its place, but i'm rarely attracted regardless of brands.............

357sig is even more limited even with converting from 40s/w availabilities.............

357sig is even more limited even with converting from 40s/w

40s/w is fine, but i have enough of those....................

semi-autos whether striker of hammer fired is more of the issue on what attracts me..................

ar's.................well the "ar" what they "ar", but can get in most every cartridge there is.....................

shotguns.............i'm not much of 1 of those peeps, but there are a few i wouldn't mind having (genesis arms and beretta)

a person on another forum offer me a 5.45x39 ar barrel which peaked my interest as i8've thought about that cartridge would be fun too shoot.....................now i just need the ammo and reloading them i have only 1 bullet choice (that i've found so far). i can find brass only cases......

sooooooooooo................maybe some revolvers....................45-70 & 500mag

lever guns sound good in 45-70, 44mag and even 500mag......................

WHAT SOUNDS FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go big!
How about a SP 105mm 🤠
You got plenty of land to test fire it.
Will get rid of that pesky neighbor… house and all 😝

I used to echo the same sentiments after returning home from our weekly session with the marriage counselor. Every where it seemed folks kept asking, “Why does he need another gun”? I could never reconcile want versus need and my gun inventory continued to go. I’m now at the point I have everything I need because there’s little out there that I don’t already own or have owned in the past. The other joy of gun ownership is comparing today’s prices to the prices I paid for firearms many years ago. I sometimes get down right giddy while viewing the wares at area gun shows! Just remember he who dies with the most wins.

@BET7 won already 😞😉

Hi,

If I'd seriously started this journey 40 years ago, or even 20, I'm sure my attitude would be different. Perhaps "one of everything" instead of "one of each".

9mm is less appealing, but has a small attraction depending on brands.................

Being retired and on a fixed income, cost is important. That's why I shoot mostly 9mm and .22. I wouldn't want to pay $1 per round. As long as .45, .357, 5.56, etc, stay at 35 to 50 cents I'll shoot those occasionally.

WHAT SOUNDS FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For me, I'm saving up for a .357 lever action. I might spend $500, maybe $1000, haven't decided. That going to be my next fun unit.

I'm looking forward to your next acquisition, @TEXASforLIFE. Vanilla? I doubt it. ;)

Hi,

Thanks for the discussion.

I think I'll be growing my "one of each" collection much slower from now on. Because I want to limit the numbers of calibers, considering my age, scheduling the time, finances, etc, perhaps just one or two more firearms in the next six months or so, depending on how fast I can save my gig money. ;) I don't need a huge collection and I have plenty of different platforms to alleviate boredom. I am easily entertained with the mere eight different calibers I am now using.

Mrs. BassCliff has a couple of her Dad's compound bows. Maybe I'll get those fixed up if I really want something different.

Not pictured, S&W 686 Plus and Sig 1911-X. These should keep me busy, and broke. I'll be concentrating on optics, upgrades, and accessories.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Sadly lacking in revolvers in that photo. :)

The saying, "Beware of the man with one gun," is an old adage meaning that a person who is highly proficient with a single firearm, trained well and knows it intimately, can be more dangerous than someone who owns many guns but never master’s shooting any of them well.

Modern counterpoint . ( Yes , generations ago it was different )

Someone with literally only one is at least as likely to have little interest in guns or shooting. They inherited it from dad / granddad / close friend . Or they bought it " to have just in case " ; and done little if any shooting with it .

If they are litterally too broke to only own one , they are likely broke enough to not waste $ on ammo , range time , or training .
