Kuna Malfunction

Mine only has a couple hundred rounds since I broke it all the way down to clean it, and in being honest.. I didn’t pay much attention to the extractor. I took a small brass bristle brush, cleaned behind it, and on my merry way. I tend to clean my 2011s’ with a little more effort, as they have internal extractors…and they can gunk up big time.

Wave… as I don’t plan on tearing mine down anytime soon, do you know if it was a press fit pin, a roll pin, or what holding the extractor in place?

@dajogejr honestly, I was in such a hurry I left to catch a flight back to California, where these guns are super scary!!! So my buddy kept it and sent it in for me. I didn't even look, again, I was pissed... I had all sorts of cans to test out on it etc, that screwed my afternoon. I just left and drove straight to the airport to catch an earlier flight. To add salt to the wound the flights were all delayed!

It was an interesting conversation with the Customer Service rep. They would not send me a replacement extractor, in the manual says not to mess with the extractor. So I had to send the bolt into them... I wonder why that is, I didn't inspect it much, I was more pissed and just sent it off. I had an event I was going to use it, not now.
Springfield doesn’t send parts under warranty, you have to send gun back to them

Curious to know if anyone else had an issue with the new Kuna. 19 rounds in to mine and the cartridge ejector or extractor went flying down range and a spring and pin fell on the bench. I returned it to SA via RMA almost 3 weeks ago now. Still waiting for it's return.
This is crazy! It’s not a one off, mine just self destructed on the second range visit. First range trip was a function test of 200 rounds. I used regular 115 ball and 50 mixed hollow points 5 of every brand I carry with no issues. The second range trip I mag dumped two mags of 115 grain and then started sighting it in with the red dot. Once it was sighted in at 25 yards I set it on a bog tripod and started walking them out to 100 yards. Had a loud pop and got gas in the face! Went to change the mag and seen a stove pipe, a spring sticking out of the receiver and a live round trying to feed but stuck. Found the extractor pin laying on the ground. Extractor got launched into orbit somewhere, thank god my son walked behind me and not to the side. Sent it in today we will see what they say. I was told that they never heard of this happening. Got it all on video though so there is no denying it.

Sorry to hear that. And what a joke saying they haven't heard that, the guy acted like it was no big deal. My bolt was returned today, so 2 weeks or so.

Not a good problem to have

Got mine back from SA a few weeks ago, 300 went good, no issues. Went to the range today, it came apart again. IM NOT HAPPY. I will be contacting SA monday morning, I can’t trust the gun or SA, I want them to take it back. It’s really sad to see low quality crap like this.

I highly doubt they will take it back, they will repair it or replace it, but I know of no gun manufacturer giving you a refund, nor have I heard of any dealer giving a refund either, no shops where I live does, personally, if it was me, when you contact SA, see about a replacement

Every new gun has issues but calling it crap? They might replace it but.... noway will they give you your money back. Just the way it goes. Get it replaced and trade in the replacement.
