I do well with red or green. All my shotguns and carbines are red, all my handguns are green. No reason for that other than I was a late bloomer when it came to handgun dots and the first one I put on a handgun also happened to be my first green one and I liked it so all subsequent handgun optics have been 507GR, either K or C. All my long guns are already set up, but if I get any new optics they'll be green. I'd have a green 507 on my 1301 except my pal @SimonRL hooked me up with a red one on the cheap.

Shake awake is a must for me. I’m not sold on Eotech either. In fact a few “ operators” I know straight up told me they’d take a Holosun into combat before an Eotech. Then the dude showed me one of his SBRs that had the “ Bouncing reticle”. I could chalk that up to every company lets a lemon slip by once in awhile, but Eotech battery life sucks too. I think my next optic, which will go on a BCM, will be an Aimpoint.

Battery life and shake awake are their downfalls. The reticles are top notch. Battery life sucks but I always keep spares so it's not a dealbreaker for me. I've not seen or heard of Eotechs having issues in many many years. Early on they had that bouncing reticle issue on some, and the glass delamination.

I may be coming into a new job and a nice bump in salary, so if I get it i'll treat myself to a T2 Micro, even though I just bitched about it two days ago.

I'm leaning Aimpoint because they're the ones guys who need them to work every time, all the time use.
