M1A with misspelled "AROMRY"

I purchased a 2004 M1A recently that had been stored since new. An error was discovered when the weapon was offered for sale by the Trustee of the Estate, that they inherited. The stamped imprint of the word ARMORY was misspelled as AROMRY.

I'm trying to determine how many of these M1A are out there. Springfield Armory has been very helpful but cannot provide any information other than build sheet for this weapon, all other information is "proprietary information".

Any help from the group is appreciated.

Here’s an Arfcom thread on the subject from 2008.

Seems they pop up from time to time, but don’t increase (or damage) value.

Interesting article on post from another forum.
My take is the guy that set up the stamps on these probably ended up sweeping the floor for awhile.

It’s a relatively benign error…and realize, if it works like type setting, you’re putting the letters in backward.

Really, a pretty easy mistake to make.
Oh yeah, not quarreling with the ease of making the mistake, but the fact that they let them ship is what I’m thinking about.

They either didn’t catch it or just said, “no big deal” and let it go.
