So I just got my new Rock Island Armory 1911 Double Stacked 1911 (9mm) (MPN 51400). It came complete with an optic that was almost already sighted for me. I have shot 250 rounds through it and it performed flawlessly! I was not expecting a relatively inexpensive pistol (under $600 on sale) to be very well made like this. It's a steel frame pistol with a full length guide rod. It's heavier than my Springfield 1911 when loaded. Note this is NOT the Ultra Tac Match 2011, it's a different version that looks the same on the outside. One interesting thing to note, when I purchased this from Sportsman's Warehouse, it labeled it as a M1911 A1 FS. However the pistol markings state it as a M1911 A2 FS Tact, it there a real difference? I plan to shot the customary 500 rounds over the weekend. Overall I am very impressed by the pistol and at first i was worried about purchasing a pistol at that low cost, but I am glad I did. Are there pistols that you have bought for a low price and were pleasantly surprised? Hope you all have a great day!

Very nice gun at a good price...congrats! I bought my SA XD Mod.3 at a ridiculous price and I was really surprised with how great it feels in my hands and how well it shoots. My XDM Elite - same thing. Got both for very good prices (which I could not pass up, being the sucker for a good price that I am

I forget what holster I use for mine.
It was a leather one that I remolded, was originally pretty tight. Maybe for a G17 or FN 45
