My Ronin - lookin a little different

Scevaph

Master Class
Just delivered back from. Springfield Armory. Sent in to have a Wilson Rear sight installed and checked for POI. Also mentioned a small burr at the slide stop notch.

Wilson Rear installed, checked for POI and needed a taller front sight.
SA front night with orange ring sight installed ( only sight they had of the correct height)
removed burr and touched up.
Although I did not mention it they also polished on the Magazine catch as the mags insert easier now.
AND, they sent it back with a new blued flush magazine ( MecGar) They tell you to sent it in without a magazine so this was unexpected.
absolutely no marks or scratches and the cost was very reasonable. I used their supplied shipping label and expected to be charged for to and return shipping. SA only charged me the return shipping.

As for turnaround, they called saying it was completed two weeks and two days from delivery to them

Graet service from SA.

It looks good. I have one I may start on next. Looking for sights. I will mainly true the parts that are in it and do something to the front strap.

If I carried my 1911 more sights would be on my list of upgrades. I think for self defense that good sights can have a very positive effect on an outcome, or even target shooting. The older I get the more important good sights are 😉.

Yep, wonder if those u notch night sights that they put on the echelon would fit? I kind of like the look.
Otherwise it back to Kensight. Had a set of XS big dot on the Ronin before this one. Which Wilson sight did you go with?

It is a Wilson fixed Battlesight with a .145 wide notch and a u bottom. Wilson says they are higher than a standard Novak Lowmount sight and typically require a .190 high front. That is what SA found it needed; the .190 high night sight they used is .135 wide and give a great sight picture with the .145 wide rear.
I wasn't thinking of a sight change but the someone on another forum had his smith put the Wilson and front on his TRP then removed then to mill for a red dot. They listed this rear and a Dawson .180 front FO sight and I got them for $20 including postage so I couldn't say no. A MUCH better sight for my aging eyes than the stock Tact Rack .130 wide rear.

Another observation; I really like the way Springfield's front sight bases are contoured to match the curve of the slide top. It give them a clean finished look.

This a Garrison that changed the sights out on night sights from Kensights. There pretty good, playing card accurate. Changed the grips out as well.
I didn't luck up on the deal you did. That was good
