Ruger to Discontinue Several Major Models

i guess i’ll have to get that GP100 sooner than later.
i only have 2 Ruger wheel guns, the GP 100 2.5 inch snubby in 38/357, and the Vaquero in 45 Colt.

to me, they are hardy and stout wheel guns, and shoot quite well.

i had a few other named branded wheel guns, but got rid of them for whatever reasons back then.

revolvers, have a place in the gun world, whether it be for plinking, or self defense, or an jobs that require to carry.

thier drawback (to me) is lack of capacity of ammo.. with lots of practice, one can reload a revolver quite easily, as Jerry Michaulk (sp of last name..??) has proven time after time.

yeah, the plastic guns earn the companies more money, but the history of what made the companies should never be erased either.

Yeah it's not looking good. Wonder if Beretta now holding a lot of Ruger stock has something to do with this.

This has nothing to do with Beretta. Ruger screwed the pooch whem they picked up Marlin while everyone was happy they lost a ton of money whem it took them the time and $$ to get the Remington machines up and running

Ruger taking over Marlin is turning out to be similar to Whem Sears saved K Mart resulting in both going under a decade later

As good as those Rugers are is nobody was buying the models in large enough numbers for Ruger to continue yjen.

I have vintage 10/22, an AR556, mini-14, American Rimfire and a Mark I from them. They are all fine and go bang.

The 10/22 is the star of the lineup. It is from 1968 with a bedded walnut finger groove stock. Accurate little rifle.
I still want a GP100.
