Short barreled non NFA rifle.

Exactly “why” is it legal? ( let’s ignore the whole NFA is/isnt thing). What makes this a firearm not covered by law? I didn’t see anything except Franklin saying it’s legal
They actually won the court case, and appeals, then Trumps DOJ settled agreeing with the district court that the decision was correct according to the Franklin Armory video.

I mean, unless it’s a BB gun or airsoft why isn’t it a firearm? And if a firearm, why not under federal law? Just curious, The only firearms I’m aware of that do not fall under federal law restriction are black powder ml’s.

I’m mixed on this truly.

Maybe it was bad council but I’d like to see the next ATF letter, if there is one that caused them to pull that stuff down.

Chess match, or running with the first victory I don’t know. I’d tend to think it’s all part of the chess match.

ATF Letter on two different grounds :

1. Normal Rifling , but " designed " to use both solid bullet And Shot .

2. Straight lands & grooves , with Zero Twist , is Neither Rifle nor Shotgun .

UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday ( 9/ 19/ 25 ) AYF Clarified that the ruling on Point #1 only applies to .45 Colt / .410 , as in the submitted sample , and NOT to other calibers .

Point #2 about non twisting lands & grooves remains unchanged .
