I used to think 18 was fine. Kids of today? Uh, I have questions.
let's not forget, that kids of yore had responsibilities, like maybe a job, maybe saving for college or trade school, or a car. many worked, there were no cell phone or smart phones or video games unless an arcade had them.
parents wanted to know where the kids were...
parents in most cases did not coddle them.
many parents were strict, and the teens many times got punished.
over the generations, parents became absent, kids were known as "latch-key", with no supervision
kids were allowed to do whatever they wanted, with no repercussions
parents in due time, allowed thier kids to continue living at home for god knows, like into thier 40's..???
kids no longer learnt responsibilities, or owning up to thier faults, but found it easier to deny everything for someone else to take the blame.
i'd not want anyone under the age of 26 to buy a gun, let alone at the age of 21.
