Show off your 1911

Very nice pick up. Your going to love the bull barrel shooting experience. Softer with increased barrel weight. 2 Kimbers in my safe 1911 & 2K11. Both great running accurate pistols out of the box.
I hope.. This is my first Kimber. I wouldn't have considered one a few years ago, but Kimber seems to have turned itself around with quality. I will say this, this gun has one of the tightest frame to slide/ smoothest slide that I've ever seen in a factory gun.

Here’s my old Kimber I bought new in mid 90s. Taken a renewed interest in Kimber since they moved to my home state. The NG is a sharp looking pistol.
I have one just like it! Those Oregon guns are tight as a virgin with outstanding accuracy!

Looks good. All original? I had a gunsmith checker the front strap on mine so that required re-blue . Replaced plastic MSH, grips and grip screws. Can’t remember if it came new with FLGR? If it did I replaced that. That’s about it. Good shooter.

Well the 38 special is getting there just waiting for the 6" barrel to come back from Kart the chamber was short after fitting which is very common on a gunsmith fit barrel but I didn't want to buy a reamer. The nitride was just completed and is still soaking up the oil so it may appear a little blotchy.
The front strap I hand stippled, checkered mainspring with some horizontal lines to match the grip safety and horizontal checkering on the rear of slide.

Very nice.

Good looking shooter! Hope you enjoy it
I've been shooting the heck out of the 5" still waiting for the 6" barrel to come back from Kart for rechambering after fitting to the slide (normal) I have finish reamers for other calibers but not going to get a 38 special reamer.
It's a cream puff to shoot been trying different loads in the 2.5-2.7 range.

Rock Island Ultra 10mm. The only thing left that’s from the original is the barrel, slide, and frame. I put a STI trigger, Wilson Combat hammer, disconnect, sear, firing pin, extractor, mainspring each part had to be fitted. Recoil spring is a wolf 28 pound I only shot 10mm loads out of it. I took the trigger down to a 1.5 pound pull but took it back to 4 pounds because I used to carry it. My back won’t let me carry anything on my hip anymore. Plus I’ve got to send it off to have the slide milled for an optic. I can see iron sights very well anymore. I’ve had it for probably 10 years or longer. It doesn’t have the billboard Rock Island logo on the slide.
