Funny thing with my ‘77 F250 is that the speedometer goes to only 70 mph.
2 local highways have a speed limit of 75 mph.
So, going down the highway to reach highway speeds, I have no clue how fast I’m going. Speedometer is pegged.
If a cop pulls me over and asks “do you know how fast you were going?”

I can legally say No Clue.
🤪🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣😁

That is weird that the speedo only goes to 70MPH. My '79 the speedometer went to 120 and my B-I-L bought a 74 3/4 ton high boy with a 120 speedo .

I truly believe the death of 20’s+ vehicles (both trucks and cars) will be the electronic widgets. A few years down range some widget the size of a pack of smokes will go belly up, no replacement will be available and your late model low mileage rig will be headed to the salvage yard. Those rigs from the 70’s and earlier will still be on the road decades after current production vehicles have passed through the crusher😏

The downfall of pickup trucks was when people started buying them as a grocery getter. never hauled or intended to haul anything in one for fear of scratching the bed up. then they complained of the rough ride so to sell them they sissified the suspension and made them weaker. then they complained they didn't have the things their car had so now they have everything. Just more electronic BS to go wrong.

Still my favorite under hood view of all time. 1990 W250 Cummins diesel that my dad bought new in November of 89. I have it now and it’s still my daily driver. Couldn’t be much better…a simple six cylinder tractor engine in a pickup truck.

Those engines were bullet proof, but the big three got into horsepower and torque wars and here we are now.

I've been the happy owner of a 2014 RAM 2500 since 2019.
I bought it a tad high mileage, 90 thousand on the odometer, and an unknown upkeep history.
First issue was the "leaking" rear window........ It wasn't the window, it was the the back up/brake light above it. And it's a common problem, with a simple fix. So I fixed it.........
My 2500 was a fifth wheel tractor in its previous life, so a few other things needed attention.
First up was the 100,000 mile tune up, on a 6.4 Hemi, it ain't cheap. I basically got the thing zero timed. Then I had the cooling system flushed. Next up was a passenger side front hub, an intermittent light killing my ABS & 4WD due to a bad ABS sensor, so it got replaced. Then, the front brakes.
Next up is the rear brakes, then the upper ball joint bushings on the front end.
Aside from the aforementioned minor issues, it's been reliable, and worth every dollar I've spent on it.
It's paid for, and for once in my adult life, I have more truck than I'd usually need, yes there's a back story, but I can't complain, even with the things that still need fix'n.

my 92 f250 was a beast
but my 24 f250 is IMO sooooo much better
its dirty as heck but it does double the empty mpg the 92 did and does not beat me like a rented mule
