UTG for the win, the ultimate MP5 accessory

I'm shocked!....and amazed.

I had gotten away from ordering from Optics planet due to the long shipping times - usually over a week from Chicago area to AZ by DHL. (My "go-to" had changed to Primary Arms in Houston - great prices and shipping times to me.)

From my reply above - I ordered this thing after 10pm AZ time on Tuesday 12/26. I'll be damned - shipped UPS from Utah and tracking has it showing up tomorrow - Friday 12/29.

F all you guys. 🤣🤣🤣

I just got my new Magpul SL stock today via USPS....from Midway, a few days after ordering (maybe 3?). I'm now financially obligated to buy the SP5...life's rough. I want to keep to OEM SP5 handguard though...it just looks HK. I'm not much into ornaments.

Some roller locker fun with my Nakatomi plaza play set.

Combined the 30.00 nerf night vision with a Viridian RFX45 greendot.

You sure Unity is UTG? And are you sure that riser was made in America?
No, I never said they were, multiple products listed. Unity Tactical fast micro is American made. The UTG pro handguard is American made.

If you are talking about the picture with the Nakatomi action play set, Viridian probably is not American made. I would guess nothing Nerf toys makes is manufactured in the US.

Well.............
3 and a half months after receiving it, installed tonight. 5 month major remodel - almost done - but today regained my work area that was being used for our kitchen.

1 - that was easy. Hardest part was removing the old rail - one screw head was stripped (by me).
2 - fit is great.
3 - looks great IMO.
4 - definitely drops the Holosun 503 lower into my line of vision.

(Earlier today - prior to this install - I ordered the UTG Pro for the AP5-P. Used that 10% birthday coupon.)

Anyone here mount a Eotech EXPS2-0 to the UTG Pro guard? I can't get the optic to get tight with the adjustments provided by the quick-release lever on the Eotech...at the point I can BARELY close the lever, the optic is still loose on the pic rail. Taking in the shop to have them show me what I may be doing wrong...but the quick-release mechanism just doesn't feel right, much less an optic that slides around on the rail...

Should be able to twist the lever tighter, then snap it shut. Use the lever as its loose and use it like a screw top to tighten it, try it one revolution at a time until tight.

Thanks...but I brought my optic and firearm to my dealer (from whom I bought bought both except the hand guard), and the Eotech did not clamp on my hand guard (pic rail on the Leapers)....or the pic-rail on his Aero-precision AR pic-rail. Thus, he told me to contact Eotech for a path forward...

Not buying a quick-release ANYTHING again. I hope this wasn't $700 wasted....

I have the same Eotech.
Had no issues putting it on my AP5 with aftermarket mount . To big a sight, looked like a brick, so took it off and mounted a smaller red dot.

Possibly an issue with the Eotech itself ??

Just an update, I had a horrible first exchange with Eotech customer service via e-mail regarding my problem. They told me I'm trying to mount the EXPS2-0 sight to an MLOK rail instead of a 1913 pic rail. The UTG-Pro does have an MLOK rail on the top, but the 3 MLOK slots are immediately between the front sight post and the charging handle when locked open, and I told Eotech their claim was quite insulting. I'll give them one chance at a reply, then I'll bring the optic back to my retailer for a refund and go with a different optics manufacturer. This is a drag.

By the way, the Eotech does not clamp tightly to my M&P15 pic rail, my Hellion pic rail, my retailer's personal Aero Precision rail either. Quite an expensive optic for this hassle.

My eotech went on my Hellion and all my AR15’s when I toyed around on which gun..
somethings up.. and yes, you need a proper rail or rail adapter to mount it to ..

Send some pics of your set up and guns/rails

I'd upload pics of the various rails that the Eotech won't secure to, but we all know what a pic-rail looks like, and that it is not an MLOK rail...neither my AR nor the Hellion even have MLOK rails on the topside (like the UTG). Besides, that also entails staging and taking pics, transferring to the PC, uploading....and I'm incredibly lazy (about such things)! Ryan (at my gun shop) even used a caliper to measure the pic rail on my UTG and it matched perfectly to the pic rail on his Aero Precision...just to rule out a pic rail out of spec.

But did you tighten the clamp screw? Just tighten the screw and it will clamp, unless your eotech is broke or a fake, but even the fakes will clamp. There are all kinds of videos on the phenomenon of loose qd mounts and how to tighten.

yes, followed the instructions. The pressure point of the cam lever (unpainted aluminum part of the lever (cam-point?) that squeezes the pic rail) is all fouled up. I'm getting a return label from Eotech. And there I sat in the store hemming and hawing over quick-release or traditional screw clamp-on...dumb decision.
