Be proactive people or this can happen in your state at some point.

Don't wait for the issue to arise at home before you step up! Join GOA and the NRA asap and voice you're concerns to step up the fight before it's too late!

There's got to be a way to petition the Supreme Court to step up. How can we get better organized as a nation of constitutional caring citizens to make a real strong case to be heard. We need the state chapters of GOA & the NRA to communicate fully and push to make a better effort to retain our birthrights nationally. We get caught up in the local politics too much and don't see how making a change on the national level would have a more meaningful impact to limit these laws that keep trampling our rights and potentially turning us law abiding citizens into criminals with the stroke of a pen.

Any lawyers here who could chime in on this topic?

Except that they won't.

Justice SHOULD be blind.

Justice IS political, these days.

That's where the fixin' needs to start - put the blindfold back on Lady Justice, and let her decide based on the merits of the LAW...not based on what the lobbyists say.

Today was not a victory, just a postponement. As patriots do not let your friends sit back and not vote. If you are one of the "Never xxxxxx" camp you need to grow up and realize perfect candidates/politicians do not exist. Vote for your rights and don't fall for the same tricks thats the Dems stated using with the test run in Alabama to elect Doug Jones.

Well spoken!

These organizations get their funding through us members. We need to be the ones to push them to take up the issue! A vast majority of people who join groups like GOA & the NRA think that just by joining you've done your part to preserve our rights. You need to be directly involved in the issues and up to date on what's being proposed by the other side.

Dont forget to read anything going before the. They will try to add it wherever they can.

We shouldn't forget that every key Democrat candidate for POTUS has advocated these measures being pushed in VA.

Plus the newcomer to the Demo POTUS candidate ranks, M. Bloomberg personally funded the politics behind the VA situation.

My .02

Agreed the SCOTUS needs to take up more 2A issues, but careful what we ask for, because depending on the make-up of the court, the decision could be different than what we want it to be. It's been written that Federal courts have interpreted the SCOTUS Heller decision in different meanings, thus allowing States to enact Gun control measures. So having the SCOTUS ruling favorably in 2A cases, doesn't stop Federal courts and States to ignore it claiming "this is waht they really meant". There's also the 10th amendment (States Rights) that push back on Federal laws and regulations. The Feds enact immigration laws by act of Congress, but States have been ignoring these with their "sanctuaries" protecting undocumented (illegal), immigrants (aliens), with little the Federal government can do to prevent them (other than threatening to hold up federal funding). The video below (Gun Talk) speaks to the Virginia Gun Control issue (starts at 4:35 in), and among other things, recommends getting involved in your State's anti gun regulations & laws by doing write-ins, rallies, etc., as these anti gun movements are moving to other States mentioned in the video. Tom Gresham mentioned getting notified of these anti gun laws being proposed in States and mentioned sites that provide email notification for your State should one arise (those sites mentioned were: Ammoland; TruthAboutGuns; TheShootingWire; TheTacticalWire. I have not searched for these yet, so I'm not quite sure what their exact naming convention is (spaces/dots between the words, etc)), Like 10mmLife states (as well as Tom/Ryan Gresham), we need to all get involve in this as it seem Dems are switching over from Federal bans & laws to States bans & laws as they try to successfully meet their goal of total disarmament moving State to State.
As for 10mmLife's question on an attorney on the site, I believe Benstt replied to Talyn in one of the threads that He/She was an Attorney, perhaps Benstt could shed some legal light on 10mmLife's question on this subject.

They have already passed similar here. They wont stop there. They will keep creating more ridiculous laws and pressing the law abiding citizen (let's face it, thats all these laws are aimed at) and finding more ways to make it next to impossible to own a firearm. People were grandfathered here as well and the AG said "they are safe for now".
