American Apocalypse: The Second American Civil War by Kurt Schlichter
The set up: 2026- Democrats win control of Congress. The new Speaker of the House is an ultra-liberal woman.
2027: President Trump and VP Vance are assassinated. The new President and democrats move to consolidate their complete power determined never to lose it again. Unconstitutional decrees are made and laws are passed to eliminate any and all opposition. Socialism and Wokeism reign.
Red States loudly oppose the new government. Martial law is declared and vocal conservatives are arrested and murdered as "insurrectionists".
2028: Red states secede and form the Free States of America. The Second Civil War begins and its devastating.
The book is set some years after the war is over. The author is interviewing people from all walks of life about what happened to them and how they were affected by it. Each chapter is one person's story. Government officials, city dwellers, farmers, doctors, Priests, solders and sailors on both sides all tell their own story.
Its thought provoking, fascinating, fast paced action. It grabs you and doesn't let go. The scary part is that its all plausible.
I highly recommend it.
